Where's everybody spending Christmas Day?

A cousin is arriving on the 2nd of December to spend the festive season in the sun down under. Will probably have a quite day, maybe a bit of golf and definitely a BBQ. When moving back to Belgium in a couple of years I will miss that...

I fly out 2 days before Christmas (may just grab the end of the Christmas markets, although I am already going to Christmas markets in Bruges (Belgium) and Oslo (Norway) before this trip)

Enjoy Bruges, I love that city over the Christmas period...

Working in Bass Strait laying gas pipeline, or will be if recent storm damage to barge is fixed in time(unlikely). Otherwise sitting on barge near Port Welshpool helping with repairs. Fly out on 23rd and back home on 7th.

The OH and I will be in Hong Kong on Christmas Day with a sumptous Christmas Day dinner booked at Cafe Gray Deluxe. No turkey :(, but also one of the few places that didn't force you to eat out of a set menu. Nothing against set menus but all of them are rich in shellfish items with no substitutes allowed.

NYE in Seoul where we'll no doubt be ringing in the New Year at one of many nefarious establishments in Itaewon.

Flying ICN-NRT on NY Day, and we'll be be having the first dinner of the New Year at one of Joel Robuchon's joints in Roppongi Hills L'Atelier with foie gras done in 4 different ways! :D

Well as this will be my first Christmas without my mum I decided to take a short overseas trip so I'm heading to Hong Kong on QF127 on December 18,spending Christmas with a friend who is a chef at a 5 star hotel there, returning on QF128 on the 26th then spending the 27th in Sydney before hopping on JQ723 to Hobart hoping to be in time to see the end of the great race.

Sounds like our dates overlap in HK. We'll be there 23rd - 27th Dec, staying Where else but in West Kowloon of course. ;) PM me if free for a coughtail or 10 down in LKF. :D

Some of you have exotic plans, I'm a little jealous! I'll be visiting with two families Christmas day (both in NSW) and will fly.

It seems like a lot of people here forgo the family gatherings and jet off?! I missed my family Christmas one year and spent it in Vegas mainly out of convenience. It wasn't my favorite... It didn't feel right to be handed strip club flyers/topless lady cards on whats meant to be such a wholesome day

This is the first time either of us are missing the family stuff. It's the only time we could both take leave from work at the same time. Oh well, there's always next year. In saying that, we'll be having some sort of pre-Christmas lunch with the OH's family as well as dropping into Malaysia to see mine on the first stop of our Circle Asia.

Spending the day at home on the Gold Coast with family and friends for a traditional Christmas Lunch. First time in a few years with all the family together so it will be nice. Last Christmas we spent travelling the US and were in Las Vegas for Christmas day, had a great time.:D

Hope the North doesn't provide the NYE fireworks.:p
Let us know about L'atelier-penned in for our visit in June and we both love Foie gras.

Haha yeah hopefully the situation in Korea doesn't worsen. We really do want to return to Seoul. We're planning on doing Europe next Christmas/NY so this is our last chance to visit Seoul for a while.

Joel Robuchon has quite a few restaurants in Tokyo and around the world under his name and they all have a different style. L'Atelier is more W, the ambience is trendy and minimalist, and the cooking is more Modern European than traditional French. If you're staying at the Westin in Ebisu, it's right across the street from Chateau Robuchon which is more traditional but also a rather old fashioned experience (guys have to wear jackets). Joel Robuchon | ƒWƒ‡ƒGƒ‹EƒƒuƒVƒ‡ƒ“ I booked L'Atelier as it's more my style, the other one is too old school and stuffy for me. Either way, I'm assured that they both serve up stunning foie gras! I'll be sure to take pics!

I'll be skiing at Zao Onsen in Japan with Mrs cjg. This will be our third white Christmas in a row, but have promised our families that next Christmas will be spent back in Australia.

I flew from Melbourne to Hong Kong in 1995 on Christmas Day in J. I don't remember if the menu was Christmas themed or not, but the Captain did make an appearance as Santa with a steward helping as his elf. The cabin also had a few Christmas decorations on the bulkhead.

Hope that didn't mean the elves got to dress up in a Capt & F/O costume!

WE will all be in Queanbeyan (NSW) having lunch at my sisters house.

My mother, one of my sisters and her family and all of our family will be present. Four generations and probably about 20 in all.
