What would everyone be doing now if it wasn't for this nightmare?
I would have been in Nouméa again, drinking champagne on the beach of Îlot Canard inbetween snorkelling sorties and watching the sunsets sipping coughtails with friends at the Chateau Royale before dinner at one of many amazing restaurants which cater more to locals than tourists.
On the bright side, I have a new dishwasher instead.
A year without travel is going to pay for a lot of home improvements.
None of them look quite this good, though or be this much fun
.

Given what's happening there now you may not have missed much. :(

...well actually they might be missing quite a bit 😉...but maybe stuff they didn’t anticipate experiencing when they booked.

I can still hear the clickety-clack of the Indian Pacific after arriving at East Perth rail terminal from Sydney yesterday...

I’m past the dates for all my planned travel - but getting ready for 2021, picked up a new suitcase at a net cost of $5 (after discount, clearance reduction, gift card and myer one credit)View attachment 232836
You make a good point and now looking at the positive side of 2020 my existing luggage has not been damaged or broken so it will still be good for late 2021 early 2022 travel.

Off to Rydges at Sydney airport. Waving goodbye to husband as he left on QF1 . I am off tomorrow on QF1 ( we both had first class awards seats released for us for this ). We are going to meet up in Munich and do some travelling. We will eventually end up in LA . Husband is coming home before me as I will be visiting with a friend. Sooo pleased having platinum as they released a first class for me on QF12

Ok now back to reality. :( Doing laundry and pondering that it is roasting and that hopefully our next air conditioning quote is a tad less

I'm not going anywhere since I just got back from Paris and will be heading off to Japan in January. But I am getting really excited about my son's arrival home from Dubai for a long stay over Christmas in just two more weeks - and he's bringing his lovely British GF with him. It will be the first time he has had Christmas at home since 2013, so I am really excited about it, and it's been almost a year since we saw him. I'm actually so excited I can hardly sleep. I've been thinking that I might even get an award flight up to Sydney and surprise them at the International terminal and all travel home to Canberra together.
Said 2019's version of Seat0B, never imagining that none of this would happen 😢

You sound just like my mother but swap 2013 for 2009 and British for Irish 😉

I was hoping to be on my RTW "Graduation Trip" right now (November 1 - Dec 12), beginning with my visiting friends in the US (NYC & Atlanta), catching up with a photographer I assisted for several years, in London, returning to my mum's hometown in Chorley, Lancashire, hitting Berlin and a few places around Germany, before taking in TH to see a good friend and her family for the first time in 2 years (usually I visit every year).

Thankfully I didn't book in December last year, so it's been postponed until 2021 - the bonus: I don't have to be home in time for graduation (like I would have to be if I'd flown in 2020), which means I can stay longer.🥳🥳
