What would everyone be doing now if it wasn't for this nightmare?
I would have been in Nouméa again, drinking champagne on the beach of Îlot Canard inbetween snorkelling sorties and watching the sunsets sipping coughtails with friends at the Chateau Royale before dinner at one of many amazing restaurants which cater more to locals than tourists.
On the bright side, I have a new dishwasher instead.
A year without travel is going to pay for a lot of home improvements.
None of them look quite this good, though or be this much fun
.

Just boarded our flight to Toulouse. Picking up a car and over the Easter long weekend we're visiting Andorra (another country ticked off the list....) and then heading out to the coast to spend some time in San Sebastian.

I love San Sebastian - I'll give you some recommendations (oh wait - next time :( )

Should be arriving in Paris now after MEL-SYD QF 332, SYD-HND JL 77W, HND-CDG JL 77W, and thanking my lucky stars for getting four seats in business the whole way using AAdvantage (and home CDG-SIN-MEL on SQ, likewise 4x biz, using KrisFlyer).

Missing the international trip reports!

Surely someone on here is due to fly out somewhere soon for work or something?? :)

Not sure, when our 2020 flights started to get cancelled I did not even think about 2021 and we normally travelled in the Apr and Sep School holidays to some place overseas. I had a short lived booking to NZ in Sep 21, booked in Dec 20 then EK cancelled the flights in Mar 21. I am going to book for the Apr 22 School holidays within the next couple of weeks and maybe these will stick. At the moment the places I would have considered going to in Apr 21 have their borders closed to international tourists.

Well hopefully on Thursday I will be flying out to WA and doing a trip report.I mean WA....isn't that a virtual International destination these days for all other Australians? ;)

Couldn’t care less no offence have been to WA about 9 times in last year ;)

I know some AFFers are vying to get to Singapore and back maybe we will see an international trip report to keep us all going until the borders open in a few years!

I had better check my MEL-SIN flight for October .
I wanted to change my SQ award SYD-SIN by a few days so checked yesterday and no new awards in any class on that sector until 1/11.
My original booked flight was still there but it was an F award. As no F I was able to cancel without penalty and rebook on J on my preferred date from BNE.But I do worry SQ know something.
However no problems on BNE-SIN.

Now back on topic.Hopefully by tonight we will be back to where we should be - Cervantes,WA.30 minutes until boarding for our PER flight.Did have a scare at checkin when agent couldn't find our booking.Fortunately I still had email from AA giving us the QF PNR so we were found and checked in.But concerns me about the QF system and why we couldn't be found in the first place.

The plan was Italy and France once Easter was out of the way.

Now it might be a loop of Victoria. Even that's a change, as we were thinking of going to Queensland. But, given the way the states keep carrying on, being more than a day's drive away seems a tad risky.

My MEL-SIN on 11th October is still looking good though the a/c is showing as effectively empty. I'm not particularly confident that this will occur and I am even less confident the the Singapore - Brisbane cruise on the 15th October will go ahead.

I'd be booking flights to NYC right about now. Sept/October trip most likely. Parents were going last year and I usually tack on one in their every 4-5 trips.
