Heading to Fiji in March for 4 nights and have no idea where to stay. 3-4 of us going (friends) and hoping for something with beach views and nice pools! I'm Gold with HH thanks to VA but am happy to stay elsewhere if it's nicer with similar prices to Hilton. Budget for accom. (not inc. food/drink packages) is around 800-1000$ per night total.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations :)

The Sheraton or Villas at Denarau are enjoyable, have the advantages of being 3 resorts in 1 with access to all the facilities (pools/restaurants etc) of each and being close to the airport so you can maximise the time spent relaxing on a short trip - just beware the beach is nothing to speak of! The Intercontinental on the other hand is further away and only a single resort but is very nice and on a pretty nice beach.

If you can get to an Island though then you will have the most amazing Fiji experience - I would go to Castaway! Wherever you go hope you have a great time, it's a beautiful place with wonderful people.

IMHO stay at Denarau Island. There are of course other places but for the simple convienience and facilities Denarau seems to have it all. Hotels, restaurants, transport to and from Nadi, tours etc.

If you are HH then stay at Hilton. Most major chains have a presence like SPG, Hilton, Sofitel and others. The Hilton is good in that you have your own unit with kitchen etc, mine had a large balcony overlooking the beach complete with its own bbq

Stayed at Westin Denarau when I was there and loved it. Spacious room, great pools (3 I think just for Westin alone) and as per sydks, enjoy 3 facilities in 1 stay.

I wasn't overly impressed by Hilton or by Denarau. The beach wasn't very nice and didn't get the "Fiji feel" when stayed there. Hilton's swimming pool was good, as other hotels in the area but for nice pool and overpriced western food you don't need to leave Australia ;)

For my next stay I'll try one of the smaller islands. DoubleTree looks like interesting option if wanting to stay within the Hilton portfolio and not brake the budget. For stays in the main island I heard some good feedbacks about Intercontinental.

Have a look at the Points and Cash rates at the DT on Sonaisali Island.

IMHO it's better than the Denarau Hilton but much cheaper and only fractionally further from Nadi that Denarau and a lot closer than the IC.

Current rates start from around $A125 per night or 12,000 points plus $FJ24.

We spent a enjoyable week at Intercontinental in the club suites with our own pool

Very relaxing, excellent service, nothing but compliments for them

For 4 nights I'd stay at Denarau. Lots of options as others have suggested. The offshore islands are definitely nicer but you'd lose the best part of a day in travel (unless you splurge on the chopper transfer).

Thanks everyone for the recommendations, will put it to the group and let you know how we go :)
