Where have all the CX J and F class awards gone?

Looking recently for flights ex SYD to HKG and other destinations via HKG over next 6 months in J and F

What once was a plethora of CX availability seems to have disappeared in the last 6-8 weeks

Any possble reasons ( are CX no longer giving QFF's the seats they used to)?

I have always seen them generally availabel upto 350 days ahead of departure date

Most sectors I look at now are devoid of CX flights?

Yes, I'm about to book 4 in the next week or so for QLD school Holidays.

If you have status you can ring them up and ask to get wait listed for awards. But I agree, normally CX has plenty of J and F availability!

Not sure how far out you are looking, but I booked a few ex-HKG F award flights on CX on the weekend for flights next week and there seemed to be plenty of availability for flights to LHR and CDG in F and SYD in J in August & September. The seats were be visible for booking online from a Bronze account.

Just secured 4 x J on CX100, late Sept (school hols)........14:05 departure (Syd F lounge indulgence) & the new CX J cabin - bliss!

Given I need to secure 4 seats (family) it was classic awards rather than JASA I did find 4 cheap JASA on QF127, 23rd Sept however, I'd rather have decent Flounge time (QF127 departs at 10:40) & a decent J cabin/seat.

It does add up as I've just booked 4 JASA BNE-SYD to connect to the CX flight......thank the lord for ATO CC payments!

Good pick up:!:.....she is busy deciding if its time to move into a retirement village. Putting an offer on a place tomorrow & then has 3 months to sell her home & move on to another chapter in her life. Huge call for the old girl & a quick trip to Honkers is the last thing she wants to contemplate.

It's a shame as we have really enjoyed her company on family trips over the past 8 years The kids will have great memories of their Grandmother........

Had to wait a little longer however, just secured 4 x J for the return flight on CX161.

Seems the HKG-ADL isn't too popular available any old day of the week.

Therefore, the easy J redemption's on CX (exOZ) remain however, as I've found over the years - you must be prepared to book within 3 odd weeks of travel.
