When travel becomes a bit "meh"

Also get a kick out of seeing squirrels......from NY to London they fill us with joy:)

I've been squirrel spotting today in NY. Union Square Park and Washington Square Park. They are so tame, they were going right up to some people. One sniffed my finger! I love squirls, I'm sure the locals are saying "meh, another squirrel loving tourist" but I don't care.

That looks like a grey one though, they're not very well received over here in the UK. They killed off the red ones.

Travel can suck and travel can be life changing. I guess it all depends on the what, where and why of travel.

I mean if I saw a zebra after being on a JQ flight going to weribee zoo via Avalon I'd be "meh" but if I saw a Zebra about to be attacked by a lion after getting off the blue train in South Africa, well that's a different story.

As they say in the classics "theres a good chap, get me another tattinger"

If you want to get your travel mojo back try a SQ Suites flight from London to Singapore provided you have a $5,000 note sitting loose in your pocket. Go the Dom, the KRUG, the French red ,book the cook and the caviar.

Lots of places and things to do before it all becomes 'meh' for me.

In a lot of respects all cities have some similarities, it's all about finding the things that are different in all the different locations.

I know the feeling quite well when I arrive back in Brisbane every Sunday....

I know that feeling... I've started coming back on the morning of my first day back at work. Makes for a long day, but I figured I should just have the one depressing day a week instead of two!

I'm pretty sure I started the weekly commute the same time you did. Seems like a long time ago... often wonder what's wrong with me!

Domestic travel is very much "meh" these days. There's still something special about going overseas though.

Outside of a holiday in July 90% of my travel has been PER-ZNE/PBO-PER day trips for the last 18 months (and for the next 6 or so). Other 10% has been PER-TSV-PER.

This saw me hit WP for the first time and will retain it inside of 4 months into my QFF yr (mirrors the '12-'13 fin year) so that has kept the 4am get ups bearable.

Even if our next holiday is PER-Wherever in Y my family and I will enjoy it and that is the end reward that keeps "meh" away.

I tried the Monday morning commute a few times and it makes the day too long for me. Getting up Sunday night is depressing but at least I can relax.

I think we did. This is my 5th year now. Almost impossible for me to get a job in Sydney now the way the job market is so looking to make this my last full time job. Taking it one year at a time....

Work travel I can understand being 'meh' - holiday travel, now that's when one must seriously be weary of life when it's 'meh'! You might as well stay home and work in the garden.

Not sure about working in the garden, but staying at home sure sounds might fine! :)
