When not to use your QFF points

If you could only get two seats in a premium cabin, then you & SWMBO could go in F or J then the MIL & 2 kids could go in J or PE (gasp) as on the A380 you could always meet up in the bar subject to CSM's approval & J & PE is all on the upper deck.

I suspect it may be better to 'take one for the team' put SWMBO & the MIL in the higher cabin then you fly with the kids in J or PE otherwise you'll never be allowed to forget it. :D

Best not to get the MIL offside as we don't want her feeling like she's tagging along as the hired help or a nanny.

I'd be happy for MIL to go Y!

If I had a Mother-in-Law I would be happy for her to go economy or better still not go at all! ;)

I do not remember anyone having to sing any documents "Marry the daughter, inheret the mother-in-law!" :p

Don't worry vitagen. If she wants you to spend time with the mother-in-law then simply tell her that it would be in her best interests that she also spends an equal amount of time with your mother.

Easy solution. Problem fixed....

I tried to educate my FIL about the benefits of JASAs as he had planned to take his wife to South Africa next year. So what does he do? Booked a classic award in PE, because it was a little bit cheaper and "good enough for them".
some people just don't get it!

I booked mum on a JASA once and she is now a fiend. Worked out a JASA for a planned BNE-CNS trip in June that will tick her into Silver; all to get the extra points on a Europe trip in October.

You mean she's not just there for that????

I'm confused..??..??

Note the words "feeling like"

It is fair to say though. Understanding how it all works requires a light to go on.
Sometimes that can never happen.

Was the MIL educated at the same time about the JASA's? If she was & is expecting to go J the FIL could be in for a bumpy ride.

Better still if the MIL was a vindictive SWMBO & found out about the 'downgrade' ahead of time (which we usually do) imagine the fun you could have with seat allocation like 39K for MIL & a nice centre E or F seat for FIL.

She could hand it to him as they are boarding the a/c with a succint "enjoy the journey - see you in Joburg". He'd then have plenty of time to himself to contemplate how 40E was good enough for him.

The sad thing is that he probably could have booked a WASA in any case ...

On the other hand the more people you educate about ASA tickets, the more competition you will be fighting against to get those seats!
