When doing OLCI and travelling HLO on JQi do you have to stop at the JQ counter? Is it possible to get your travel document verified in the QF lounge?

The JQ website says the following:

You must present the following documents to the web check-in counter before check-in closes, strictly 60 minutes before departure. If there is no web check-in counter at your airport, please proceed to a regular check-in counter.

  1. Your boarding pass
  2. Your itinerary
  3. Your passport
  4. Visas if required (it is your responsibility to ensure you have all the relevant visas for the countries you are travelling to)
Once you have presented these documents, your check-in agent will need to verify and stamp your boarding pass. You must then proceed through security and immigration and arrive at your boarding gate at least 45 minutes prior to departure.

Don't see you getting to the lounge without the above.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I have never flown JQi. So I have already printed my BP after OLCI and somehow it needs to be stamped by JQ staff so I can get through security? QF don't stamp their BPs. Is this JQ specific?

Unless I am missing something, I would believe it impossible to GET TO the QF lounge until you have already successfully negotiated immigration, etc.

Maybe I'll just make a comparison. When I fly QFi, I check in online, print my BP, go through security, immigration and then in the QF lounge. This is the first time I fly JQi. I already have my BP so I can go through security and immigration. So my question is simply, can I do this or when I reach the QF lounge they will tell me I'm not OK to fly and need to go back to JQ counter.

If travelling from Melbourne to specific Asian destinations, you don't need to see a JQ check in agent or check in kiosk. Just bring your passport and the boarding pass you printed at home and go straight to immigration and then to the lounge. I did this recently on a flight to Bali.

Down bottom. Appears MEL only at present.
Believe JQ 'Business' does give Express cards

interesting - seems worth a try as you can definetely get through SYD immigration with a QF printed BP - even more so once smartgate comes in I'd think
