I think I saw some figures somewhere last week where 1st homebuyers down from 30% or so to about 12% recently due to overheated market - if AUD keeps dropping look out in the real estate market.

If the Aussie dollar dips to 50 cents our pay rates won't look as high nor will our real estate prices seem so high compared with the US.
I am glad I did the US project and the UK project when the Aussie dollar was so much higher. The pound was 0.66 and that is history now.
Now we can worry about the Kiwi dollar.

I was happy when I moved some money from Aus over at .68 - just wish I had the foresight to have moved more!

Just can't see any value in AUD near/mid term. Previously thought 77-80c range was attainable as settle point and still do.

Most people did not have an issue with the AUD when it was USD1.05 for a long time.

All of a sudden the AUD should be below USD0.80 and then when it gets below USD0.80 it should be below USD0.70 and so on!

I bought a couple of years of US currency based on our use as I don't want to think any particular item I want is too expensive. My average is now around .93 and I can live with the drop from 1.05 for the past 2 years.

Contrary to RBA's wishes and dire predictions from some of our leading economists that little Aussie bleeder is doin' it's best to climb - Chris Caton was on TV earlier this week predicting 80c in not too distant future - he might yet prove to be correct only time will tell.
