I was reading a flyertalk thread about someone who got told they were not worth a free meal thanks to their value ratings, has anyone been shown what their guest rating is in the profile the hotel sees, apparently its from 1 to 5 stars, they also keep a service recovery log of extra things done when things go wrong?

I wonder if other chains will put more emphasis on it for BRG abusers/serial offenders? Thanks to a heap of low cost stays over Christmas, I would be pushing a star, might explain the great wine bottle swindle LOL.

Haha, I'll be lucky not to get 5 devil symbols on my HH account. I use various corporate rates worldwide (all legitimate, of course) at ~50% off whenever I like and using the full benefits of Diamond status via brekkie, lounge/drinks and Internet. And to rub it in, I redeemed my entire wad of HH points at the Conrad Maldives for 6 nights before the devaluation (valued at ~$15,000 AUD based on cheapest advance purchase for equivalent villa in peak season). Unfortunately, I do expect to have to pay for quite a few things at that property though

If only Hyatt could see how 'invaluable' I am to them too :o

I have seen the screen showing my "property" rating as well as my "overall" rating - it was a HSW Exec Lounge former staff member who I got to know rather well. Don't believe it was a star rating - sure it was a number.

Might try to grab a look at my HSW rating next weekend when I check-out. At least I know my Sydney rating will be non-existent when I stay there next Friday night (haven't stayed there in 20+ years and I'm quietly confident that their records don't go that far back).

Has been going on for a long time at Hilton. They really know their guests. They have the best system (for a massive hotel chain) to keep track of their guests overall.

How would one find out what their ranking is?

I'm so tragic when it comes to Hilton (because they have failed for me on so many different levels) that I don't even bother to claim the points. Book in various names via different booking sites and amazed at the different 'class' of service and rooms I get.

I do like the Melb South Wharf though.
