For me there is absolutely no contest - Concorde.

Although I've never flown in it, it seems to have followed me around most of my life. It started with my grandfather who worked at Filton airfield near Bristol, UK in the 60s whilst Concorde was being developed there and he always had stories to tell us about it when I was growing up in the early 70s.
Then a little later on in life, it quite often appeared at air shows held the the RAF bases where we lived, and then finally when I worked at an office near Heathrow in the 90s, everything would stop in the afternoon when Concorde took off. It had to - you couldn't hear anything else!

To me it represented an impressive achievement, one which has not been surpassed ever since. I was really quite sad when it was taken out of service!

Everyone is a big fan of all the big Long-Haulers! For me you cant beat an A320 its efficient, reliable and simple and gets you over the tasman quickly!

Would love to have flowen Ansetts Sandringham flying boat, an uncle was a steward onboard in the 50's and told me of the exciting low level, luxury flying. My personal love was the F-28 1000 "pocket rocket" a great plane, flowen by " people ", either Air NSW, or East West, out of MCY
Military favourite definately the F-111 "pig". Can't imagine Brissys River on Fire without the two plane dump and burn!!!
Cheers Dee

I'd have loved to go on both a B707 and Concorde. My grandfather was lucky enough to score a spot on one of BOAC's Concorde proving flights to Australia (took the PM's seat), and he speaks about it oftan.

For me, it's largely dependent on how a particular airlines chooses to layout particular planes, and for this I do like the SQ 777-300ER.

However, one of the factors that makes a difference, not related to the layout is the takeoff acceleration. Usually, the bigger planes do nothing for me in that regard, a fully loaded 747 with a full tank of fuel slowly climbing into the air has no particular thrill to it, the A380's even less so as you barely notice you've taken off.

On the other hand, I was impressed last year with the thrust of the ERJ 70 seater that DJ operate - at least on the single time I flew on it, really got that pinned to the seat feeling (admittedly the pax load was only 21), and the rare opportunity to fly a lightly loaded 747 on a short sector (eg MEL-SYD or even MEL-AKL) is also quite impressive, particularly how quickly the bird climbs into the air.

For me its the 777.
It was my first international solo trip, and it has taken me more places than any other type of plane.
Being from Perth, I havent had the chance to be on a 747 since going to America in 92.
I do wish QF will bring their 744 back onto domestic routes, but I doubt it will be anytime soon.

I like the Boeing 737-800 :D Also didnt mind the MD-83, flew one of those last year, from BUR to SEA with Alaska Airlines.

With Flight Sim, I like the 737-200!!

Embraer E170

lots of people loving the B747... I'm glad I booked a trip on one in late July to see what the fuss is all about.

Airbus A380 was nice.

For me a DC3 in PNG.best landings ever, the squeal of piglets as they escape their owners grasp, the spear stuck in the roof-atmosphere that just cant be repeated on any other plane.

I once flew in an RAAF Dakota (read DC-3) that had been fitted out for the Queen many years earlier.

Slow and a bit of noise but certainly the most comfortable I've ever been in.

I love any plane that gets me safe and sound to my destination.

Having said that, i have soft spots for many aircraft. My favourite would probably be the 747SP.

I'm more afraid that the taxi driver is going to think they're a race car driver that I am of the plane falling out of the sky...

Let's face it, I'm sure we can all remember a taxi ride from hell, but I'm pretty sure none of us have been involved in a major plane crash...

Hi all,

I do enjoy the A333. I find the J cabin spacious and the area in front is good for a break from sitting.

Apart from this I also enjoy the B743 that did the PER-SYD flights as they also had plenty of room in J to wander and get the blood flowing.

im a B777 fan.. To me, they give the best back in your seat feel or a ERJ that AA uses. Im really looking fwd to the B787.. Ive been on JL, UA, AA and CX variants.. CX on new interior is the best by far that i've seen..

Yes, either end of the spectrum for me, B747-400 for comfort (have not been no the a380 yet) and the little AA-ERJs, I flew Louisville-ORD on one of those and the landing was very cool, banked around and you could see the approach from the window and had barely finished the turn when we landed..

For Long Haul it is the Emirates A380 Business Class - Love the bar !!
For real fun, I have a soft spot for the ole Beech 1900D and for nostalgia its the DC3.:p
