What's the usual reservations line wait time?

I guess these are the perils of dropping status... I'm currently on hold with reservations to check on a cancelled booking. The recorded voice happily told me "the current expected wait time is greater than 30 minutes".

This follows on from a 45 minute wait two weeks ago to request a cancellation, where I had the pleasure of speaking to an agent who tried to charge $500 in cancelation fees because they couldn't read the fare rules

Is this about the norm now? Given I'm chasing up a cancellation two weeks later that "will be processed within 3 days", I'm far from impressed!

what status are you now? I'm finding with silver the phone still gets answered pretty quick. a friend without status was on hold for 45 mins, as you say. if nothing else silver seems to have hit the sweet spot in terms of getting through to reservations (unless that's recently changed :()

Being just before the long weekend maybe the call volumes are higher than normal?

Down to petty silver now... Seems 30/40 minutes is normal? Don't really see how this can be good enough.

Also not impressed that over two weeks later they still haven't put a booking through to be refunded

That was my recent call too. It goes through as a voucher first and then five days later the refund is processed. Well that's what they said. They can see it says "refund". A week later that's what it still says.
