What's the longest time you've spent in an Airport or Airport lounge

6 hours in the LAX T4 FL. I had the lounge to myself for most of the time apart from when a lovely couple came in prior to flying to LHR.

I consumed numerous glasses of wine, and spent the time relaxing and reading a book. Had a great time :)

- 8hrs in HKG in 2011. Visited every lounge possible, having a glass of each wine on offer at each lounge. Needless to say, i slept the whole flight to SYD.
- 6hrs in SCL a few months ago. Can't remember which LAN lounge it was, the one with the sleeping room. It was just after the lounge opened, having done the red eye from EZE, with almost no sleep from the night before. +1 and I had 4.5hrs sleep before QF 28 to SYD.

7 hours in Lufthansa SEN lounge in FRA Z terminal; huge and well appointed. Has secure lockers so can wander terminal without carry-on stuff.

6 hours Flouge hopping in HKG. Poured myself onto plane at the end.

The good: 6 Hours in BA Galleries including Elemis Spa visit (T3 LHR)
The bad: Turned up at NRT at 8:00pm for the 20:00 flight thinking we were 2 hours early. Just in time to wave it goodbye.

I did exactly the same thing in Rio, turned up for a GIG-MIA flight what we thought was 2 hours early only to find out it was about to push back, but that was because i had the details of an earlier flight still in my intinerary even though i changed to a different flight later on... Took the bus back to the hostel to try again the next night rather than spend 24 hours at the airport...

5 hours in the DEL international check-in hall, because the (now ex-) corporate TA booked my "connecting" domestic and international flights 9 hours apart on two carriers that don't interline baggage. If I'd known in advance I could have organise to go do something instead :(

8 hours in PER domestic, because I mis-read my quarter-past-midnight Saturday flight as quarter-to-midnight Saturday (Mrs doctau was not happy).

6 hours in SYD international QP, because it was my first ever time in a lounge so I made my DOM->INT connection as long as possible to enjoy it :)

Later in the year I'm travelling on SQ F/Suites and I'm thinking about spending overnight (~13 hours) in the Private Room rather than pay for the Transit Hotel or Crowne Plaza. Some guy actually spent 3 days there and documented it in this thread: [SIN] The Private Room at SKL T3 - Page 29 - SQTalk

Can't say it looks half bad. :)

It wasn't half bad at all, benlight!

I was actually going to post about my experience at The Private Room but then came across your post.

Not sure I'd do it again but since Singapore Airlines allows you to check in up to 48 hours in advance it was just an itch I had to scratch.

I had 18.5 hours at DFW due to Tornados last year - 5 flights to Boston cancelled - one after the other - left lounge open for 1st class pax - last booking made was flight to leave at 0630 that ended up leaving at 1100 hours - funny though - when arrived in Boston my luggage had been there since 2100 night before - very strange - no hotels available all fully booked - not pleasant but better than flying through those terrible storms.

Now eight hours at DRW due to QF825 going tech today. Had to slum it amongst the masses when the QC closed in the mid- to late-afternoon. Still doesn't come close to the records of other stories here but I'm glad QF took the steps to look after me.

This is one record of mine I'm not particularly keen on breaking.

8 (ish) hours in MEL F lounge. Never want to do that again... was travelling in F so staff knew to look after me. After the 3rd or 4th spa invite I did lol a bit. Champagne kept flowing but eventually I was cut off just before my flight.

Fun times(once).

What did they actually say - you've had too much and due to RSA they can't serve you any more?
How many did you have anyway?

I have spent ~10-12 hours a number of times overnighting in SIN airport. It is not a bad airport to overnight but even with lounge access the wait can be painful.

I have also spent many ~6-10 hours overnights in airports such as TPE, HKG, SIN, AKL, WLG, ATH as it is not worth going to a hotel for a few hours and returning back to airport early in morning.

A couple of weeks ago I spent ~9 hours overnight in SIN airport and spent most of the time in the SATS lounge until it was time to go and collect luggage.
