I'm doing a CNS-HTI on a Dash-3..........I feel a bit silly, but what's a Dash-3?

Dash 3 or a DH3? DH3 is a Dash-8 series 300.

I don't know. I asked the QF lady what plane and she replied a Dash 3. I asked if that was a Dash 8 (thinking Dash 8-300) but she replied no it's a Dash 3..........

QF2503 is a "De Havilland DHC-8 Series 300"

QF staffer needs to learn a bit more about plane types :D

They do have a DC3 in CNS.......

Hmm, I assume that is used for fire training? Or is it used for freight / some other usage?

They run the engines up once in a while, and while she used to be VH-SPY, she actually carries a N rego,N65388.

Definitely not used by us for fire training. The last DC3 we used for training was at Bankstown in the late 1980's. It was the one with Norman Gunston on the tail and got fully incinerated in 1 exercise . I believe the one in CNS is still used for freight movements although very rarely these days.

I'd call it a "flying wheelie bin"..............

Me?.....or the plane? ;)

Assuming you mean the DC3, I'd say it's a flying wheelie bin with real aviation history!
