Curious of course.

Unlike a lot of other FF schemes, they didn't start at a small number.

Mine is 210065xx_X

Wondering what others got. Assume the last digit is a checkdigit, but unsure.

Just joined a few minutes ago. 210149****

Hmmm. Another FF program and another card to wedge into my wallet.

Pete, collecting the whole set

I love collecting everything even if it will never be used.

Joined about 10 minutes ago and number is 210149xx_x. I can provide with the whole number if required as I am not likely to fly any virgin flights so anyone that would like to donate some points I would be grateful.

After alll, free flights are free flights as long as they are not Helios.

I'm a sad case. I clicked on the "Print temporary card" link, so that just in case by some wild erratic chance I happen to find myself on Virgin Blue in the next few days, I can whip out my number with an air of conscious pride.

Then again, stranger things can happen. In January I got stuck into the champagne and a few hours later found myself in the local Flight Centre shop saying "I want to fly to Washington. Tomorrow!"

The numbers seem to have risen fairly quickly. ~ 800000 difference between some.

Even with a check digit, that is still 80000 odd members in around a week. Nice going DJ if that is the case!

Still interested in knowing where the numbers started off. If any lurkers want to PM me personally I'd be happy :)

If I was commencing a new FF scheme in competition to Qantas, I reckon I might fiddle the numbers a bit to give the impression that I had more than I really did.

Qantas's scheme costs money to join, so honestly, I don't think there would be all that many QFF members at any one time. Many thousands, certainly, but if it were anywhere near half a million, I'd be astonished.

But Virgin's scheme costs nothing, so there is no disincentive to joining. Just on the off chance.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if 80 000 ppl joined in the first week.

I'm glad to see a little more competition to Qantas in this area. If Virgin starts winning market share because of Velocity, then Qantas will have to open up the goodie bag a little.

Anyone know how many QFF members? I joined 30 months ago and got number 4,***,***.

Someone on aff recently mentioned that there are 60,000 WP's and using statistics of less elite members and a lot more plebs that would seem to suggest that there would be at least 500,000 QFF members.

I wouldn't be surprised either. There a lot of people only ever fly on heavily discounted tickets and the free membership would be an incentive to join.

You are looking at one astonished Skyring!

My wife joined in October 2004 with number 4811***
And I joined in January 2005 with number 4909***

Pete, half a million strong

I can't remember when I joined QFF, but my number is 0313xx_.

And it looks like I just cracked the century in terms of posts on AFF.

For frequent flyer numbers there is more then on thread on AFF: For Example
Thanks I have seen some of these.

Just interested to know if anyone knows how many members belong to QFF.

Same day as me but my number is 210116xx_x. Am I 2 or 20 thousand ahead? So the 210 is common and how many check digits are there? Even then most algorithms don't support the use of consecutive numbers as it throws out the check digits.

Let's just say that there are so many more than will either fly on Vermin frequently or ever accrue anough points for even the shortest flight.

Of course its free so the spindoctors can trumpet the success of their scheme.

Yup, just another piece of plastic in the wallet and generally more useful in colder climates, so you can use something of no value to scrape the frost off your windscreen.

My Velocity number is 210066xx_x.

However, interesting that this time last year (almost to the day), I registered for a "Blue Flyer" ID, and my "Blue Flyer" number was 210048xx_x.

Shh, don't tell anyone, but I have a prinetd copy of what a card with my name may look like, and it has a number starting with 210065xx_x.

Oh, do we ever need an emoticon that shows adulation. Damn Nelly, you are the shiznits (don't ask what it means but my son tells me it is good)!!
