Many here on AFF probably has had this scenario before, but it is a first for me :D

No ranting..... only sharing some good news from moi.

Logging into MMB to see the whole F cabin on QF 388 open for me to choose from !

And I do mean from 1A to 5K.

How delicious it is to have the first "bite of the cherry" !!!

Over to my fellow (OCD) AFFers for suggestion.

I had picked 4A - again.

Cheers

What route/flight and dates ?
I'm guessing for that to happen it has to be perhaps 353 days out or on a less popular route ? (HKG seems easier than LAX, for example).

Do CL/WP1 get seats blocked for them or how does it happen in F exactly ?

Your guesses are correct as one would expect from an established member.

Given that there is no blocked seat for me (mere WP), I guess the CL/P1 would have the same access as I.

I had no blocked seats booking MEL-LAX in F 330 days out as an SG. I took 2A and the only seat subsequently reserved is 3A quite possibly by another forum member. This may be because I booked through AA.

2A or 3A- less time to wait for the bubbly :)

I tend to book around 9 or 10 months in advance and usually the whole cabin is open to me on a variety of routes. People who fly in F seem to make decisions closer to the time - more business people probably rather than on holidays like us. I've never seen blocked seats even when Gold and flying on a discounted F fare.

Flying to London early April returning May, have selected 2A & 3A no other seats have been selected as yet.

Just got off a very delayed QF01 in the sandpit from seat 2A. There are definitely worse places to be for 15 hours! The service was excellent and yes the champagne was served very promptly by the lovely Liz.

There were no galley noises, creaky floors or noise from the toilets, so like a few others here 2A is my new 'spiritual home.'

IME, whether the floor creaks or not is dependent on the way a person walks. A briskly walking FA, as when on a walk-straight-through errand seems to set off the creaks whereas a more strolling gait (when delivering the Comtes, for example ;)) doesn't. I can't recall pax setting it off, as they tend to stroll rather than walk through briskly.

I think it would be hard for a FA to be walking briskly past 2A, they'd run out of room! ;) Perhaps this is a hidden benefit of row 2...

I think it diverted to PER ...

Qantas (QF) #1

I think that was Saturdays flight, the flight on Monday was delayed 4 HOURS as the aerobridge at gate 10 at SYD struck the aircraft. So another 4 hours in the F lounge. What hell... I just felt sorry for those in whY.

Yes, really not a fan of the big stomping FA.

One could be bumped in the lounge to accommodate a CL - this has happen to me. Of course I'm assuming John O'neil is/was CL......I was told the seat was faulty.

I was in 1A, 5K and 2A in April. Would never select 1A again as I found in difficult to sleep due to the noise from the toilet especially when the toilet seat dropped down. I would expect that 1K would be similar?

I had 1K from SYD-LAX last month and didn't notice any toilet noise. Very slight gallery noise in 5A on the journey home (LAX-MEL).

The best thing about 5A was being first off the plane in MEL when only the door at the rear of F was opened.
