What layout and class configurations should we expect to see in the Qantas 787?

Business and economy? I am hoping for Business(skybeds), Premium(same as A380) and Economy - 3 cabins

This all depends on what Jetstar wants.

By the time Qantas gets it's hands on one they may have introduced a standing room class as well.:p

With the handles hanging off the ceiling like in a bus? Imagine taking off! They could call it tarzan class!!;)

People spend an hour "strap hanging" on train journeys all the time, what's different about an hour from Sydney to Brisbane?;)
Cheers

Yeah well thats what jetstar will want most likely but what Qantas wants will be a different story wont it? I suppose it will be like this and with skybeds in business. Hoping for a premium cabin 2!

Seriously QF may not get 787's at all, they might all go to Jetstar. If they do get them it looks like being 5 years away so who knows?

Qantas has made it pretty clear that Jetstar will get all the 787's and the only long-haul aircraft flying for Qantas mainline will be the A380, but but 2020 the chunk of the A380's will already be 10 years old.....

Expect them to be fitted out in a very similar layout to the Jetstar A330's

Qantas has only said the 787-8s will go to Jetstar.
The 787-9s are sitting in the last presentation as floaters, but will have to be used to replace the 9 747s that Qantas are hanging onto for a bit longer.

As for fitout I had read somewhere that Boeing are only allowing limited seat choice selection with limited customisation so QF may not be able to fit Skybed Mk II and might have to go for a more off the shelf design.

Many unknowns at the moment so we are all just speculating. The loss of the Skybed will be a positive though.

Page 108 of the Strategy Day lists that by 2021 the ONLY aircraft Qantas International will have is the A380

Yes, but there are a bunch of unassigned 787's in the presentation.

Anyway, 2021 is w hile off yet, and the plans may have changed several times by then.

I have no doubt they will, but we all know that future of Qantas international..

Tomorrows announcement by Qantas will be interesting..

This thread will be closed by the time they get them, kind of pointless! Who knows what QF will be like in 2 years let alone 10.
