Qantas is just going through a period it probably should have gone through a few years ago. The age of entitlement is coming to a a close.

Vegetarian fried rice? How lovely.

Brisbane Qantas business lounge had Braised Italian beef but they had run out when I got there.

Sydney Qantas lounge still had beef lasagna at 8:45pm so I had some.

Sydney Qantas Business lounge still had Italian chicken out at 9:00pm so I had some of that as well.

Virgin does not come close. Not sure why you are persevering with it.

QPs used to have two to three choices in terms of hot food, not sure why you are persevering with it, enjoy the dogs.

Sign of the times. There were 2-3 different dishes in the BNE Business lounge when I arrived earlier in the evening.

And I would take the hot dogs anytime.

Frankly, I don't care. Just how did it taste?

Exactly - but it is the public system and they are unlikely to do that until after the liver biopsy.

Was the best scan I ever had - but the most expensive out of pocket I've ever experienced. Worth every cent though ;)

They seem to do a pet scan at the drop of a hat these days.

While not cancer I certainly feel my wife's grandfather would have made another year if he was in the public system. Instead he spend a month or more in a private hospital and died of an 'infection'. Whatever that was.

So far you're the only one persevering with denial of the ample evidence presented. I'm not sure why you continue to compare a higher level of lounge, a business lounge, with a standard level lounge. That was the food in the Qantas club, an equivalent level. It is precisely the food you attack about virgin.

2-3 dishes. Yeah right. Why don't I believe you. Because the Sydney business lounge never has 2-3 different dishes. Unless you want to count the possible combinations of toasted sandwich.

Some will fight to the death.

Oh come on. A Neil Perry hot dog is far superior to a Luke Mangan hot dog :)

I was agreeing with you with the "How lovely" statement. Vegetarian fried rice is not great in any lounge.

There was at least 2. There was the braised Italian beef and some other Italian(ish) salad with bread. There may have been a 3rd.

I have been in the SYD business lounge when they have had a hot meal, cheese triangles and meat pies. I count that as 3 things on offer different to the sandwich items.

Was that before or after management changes, as a "recent" datapoint versus one that is irrelevant, last Wednesday in SYD there was one hot dish of beef dog food (what it looked like) and the toasters. The soup was cream of celery and the plate of the day was cheese.

I wouldn't consider cheese to be a 3rd meal. On that note, phone about to die so aurevoir all.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Looks like we've worked out the following:

QantasVirgin Australia
Is a mealFried rice
Cheese Plate
Pie
All day warmer soup
Hot dog
Definitely Is not a mealFried rice
Cheese Plate
Pie
All day warmer soup
Hot dog
Probably a mealToasted Sandwich
Probably not a mealToasted Sandwich

Spot the difference.

Hmm, not sure who set up the thread, but it is not limited to lounge food it also applies to on board meals. Note the comment about J meal on Virgin.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

I'd consider cheese a meal.

Its delicious.

Whats wrong with cheese for dinner!?

Dont judge me.
