What I ate today - the food thread

Just home after another Stavros lunch at Kawana. We started with the lamb ribs and the calamari.

The lamb ribs were delicious as always and the calamari was also delicious and really tender.
For mains Mrsdrron can’t go wrong with the mussels.

I went with the Mooloolaba prawns from the mezze list. Another great dish.

Mrsdrron had her usual glass of Sav Blanc and I went south of the border for my beer.

Not too bad at all. We will be back on Friday with friends who want to try it. We weren’t going to say no.

It was back to Speros on Friday with good friends for lunch. We showed them our favourite dishes - 2 plates of lamb ribs, calamari, mussels and fries and cauliflower salad. Many pictures of those already.
But one new dish - waygu beef ordered medium rare. It was excellent. but most went before I remembered to take a picture. It came with fries and a small Greek salad.

Lunch at the River Bar Kawana today. Recently taken over by the people from the Boatshed Maroochydore
A beautiful day and nice to be near the water. Food was excellent as well. A little on the pricey side.
Mrsdrron had the compressed lamb with potato and a green salad.

I had the BBQ char sui pork belly with octopus and salad. The hot and spicy sauce was only just spicy. I sent my plate back clean.

No photos, but tried the new Rick Steins in Coogee yesterday. The crew were trialing the terrace area and happy two hours (2-4pm) before some sort of launch in the next week or so. Ordered shared fish and chips that did three, a bread roll was needed though. We're not sea foodies but great afternoon.
It’s very good. We must go back.
