What I ate today - the food thread

It was a seminar about investing in Asian and emerging markets put on by an internationally recognized investment management company with a small focus group and robust discussion ensued. Finally, we’re back meeting face-to-face again. Will have content again for this thread.

Lunch last week with my parents - Dad bought some Coffin Bay oysters - only needed salt , pepper and limes from the backyard

A local restaurant in Arana Hills - think it was a scallop and vegetable stack

Tonight I made "Beer Braised Bratwurst". Browned first and then braised in onions, dark beer, crushed coughin (should have been Caraway but I didn't have any) and Mustard Seeds. Eaten on hot Irish Soda Bread with mustard.

So we had to have a taste of Vietnamese at Nguyen bros Maroochydore.There is a closer branch now at Birtinya but that is opposite the new hospital so not a lunch place and no parking during the day.
Mrsdrron as usual had her lemongrass beef vermicelli salad.It is very nice.

I had the green papaya salad with prawns.also very nice.
.

Mrsdrron had a glass of Pinot Grigio and I an IPA brewed just over a km from our home.Your mates Larry IPA.

And to top it off it is on Amex shop small.

Alida restaurant Launceston.
Started with the scallops with garlic butter and chorizo.Beautiful.

Then the small size Cape grim porterhouse.Cooked to perfection and a lovely piece of meat.sides of garlic potatoes and honey roasted carrots.

And accompanied by a glass of Winstead winery pinot noir then a glass of White Rock Dornfelder.Both very nice..
