What common aircraft type have you never flown on?

No recollection of a B777 for me. That needs to be fixed. Also, B737 Max is in the future for me.

I've done otherwise the series from B737 up and all of A319 up, E170/190's, whatever Dash 8's QF used to fly to QLD mining towns, DC9 and/or 10 and MD8x. Throw in a couple of Tupolevs (with double earplugs, please! 😵 ) and that's about it.

Really? They were the QF SYD-MEL workhorse for years (as well as PER, CNS and short haul international).

I saw Qantas debut one at the Williamtown RAAF airshow around 1985 - then was in the USA for 5 years (where I flew on the United DC-8) When I came back, I didn't fly in Oz for ages... Somehow, my 'emu years' aligned ot the B767's tenure.

Has anyone flown on A340-500 and A340-600... those are very rare!!

I never flown on A220, A318, A320neo, A321neo, A338, A339, A345, A358, A359, A350-1000, 747-8, 787-9 and 737MAX. Hope I will fly one of them one day!!

I've flown twice on A340-600s, once with QR and once on IB. Those are very long planes!

Never the A340-500 though, I think they mainly just flew Singapore-New York for SQ a while ago?

EY flew both. I assume several of my trips through the sandpits was one or the other or possibly both (as well as 777s and A380s).

The VS daily LHR-HKG-SYD was the big bird -600.

Yes I have flown on twice too... EY and VS. I was able to manage to get CX but switched to 744 in the last minute. Yes it is but same length as B77W!

Yes that was long time ago - it used to fly between SIN to New York. But now it came back by using A350-1000.

EK used to operate A345 from DXB to BNE to AKL a while ago. I remember I wanted to manage to fly with it to NZ but it was too late already. It changed to A388 and B77W.

Maybe not, but if anyone lists a B747 here …
Interestingly it took many years of flying before I ended up on my one and only 747 flight; a Thai SYD-BKK not long before covid. Never managed to fly on a QF one (I don't have good records of a QF PER-NRT flight in the late 2000s but assume it was a 767).

Not much mention of Embraers in this thread. They're not uncommon...
Enjoyed my one short IND-ORD flight in AA F on an E175!

Edit: to address the actual question I think my next boxes to tick are effectively QF's future fleet: 220, newer variants of the 321, and 350-1000 (have done the 359). I also thought I'd flown a CRJ at some point in the states but it's not in my history.

I have never flown on any version of the B747. As I have mentioned previously, I have been onboard dozens of them but only on the ground to collect paperwork off the crew. However I have seen more of the 'insides' of a747 than most here. On a training course back in the early 1990's we had a QANTAS aircraft engineer take us over one and pull off various panels so we could see some of the possible hiding places on board. We got to look into the electronics bay , up the tail past the end of the cabin panelling and into the overhead space above the false ceiling. I was amazed at how much 'unused' room there was on the plane. We had all been into the cargo holds before so that was nothing new.

I still have to get on an A350 flight, which will most likely happen next year. There's also some of the 'exotics' like the B747-8. Something to plan for my retirement years (cue eye-roll from MrsK)

I think I've been on everything I want to fly on except Concorde and the A310.
Been on the B707 and 727. Several B737 variants and a few B747 variants. An Icelandair 757 (ugh) and many QF 767s. Numerous 777s & 787s. A couple of B717s and the similar F100s.
A318s, A319s, A320s and A321s. Obviously both A332s & A333s. Etihad A340s (love them for the HUGE first class bathrooms!). LATAM, Cathay & Qatar A350s (the best current aircraft IMHO). An A321-neo and an A330-neo. Obviously A388s (QF, EK, EY, MH).
Also various ATRs and smaller aircraft. And the Embraers and the BAE.
I will not ever set foot on a 737-MAX.
Even if you pay me.

Flew B767 SYD-MEL many years back, and been on AY A340 and A350. Hadn't flown on a B787 until March 2022, but really can't think of a type I would really love to fly on that I have missed out on.
