What cheeses me off

Websites. In the middle of updating a subscription site for credit card expiry, in the middle of typing in card details, it flicks to a survey page 'how are we doing today'. Dismiss it and all the typed in details are gone. Then it flicked back to the survey page. They sure got told.

And Jetstar. We have purchased Max. Includes meal and seat and checkin luggage. I've printed all that out. But in the booking it looks just like I haven't purchased any luggage. 'Do I want to checkin luggage' it asks with a Buy button next to it. I swear I have printed out the luggage confirmation page multiple times because seeing that message freaks me out every single time. And just now got an email asking me if I want to book in luggage. Confirmation page printed out again just now.

Whenever you ring a doctor's surgery and there is an automatic announcement saying if this is an emergency hang up now and call 000

How many people would find their GP number and call that instead of 000

Driving down Greenhill Road in Adelaide around 4pm yesterday and it's a clearway from 3pm.

There would have been at least 10 cars parked in the clearway over the length of the road from Portrush Rd to Anzac Highway and it's just screws the traffic flow. I think they should be towed away

I hate "please listen carefully as our options have recently changed". Like I go around memorising options for countless companies. Has anyone ever listened carefully and noticed the change?

I drive down Dandenong road in Melbourne and the tow truck sits there waiting for the clearway to start, zero leeway for any cars still parked there.

Based on the number of phone calls a practice gets i suggests many.

I was having dinner with some friends, some working in medical practices (including specialists) and we were actually talking about this. And they mentioned exactly what @Quickstatus says: a surprising number of people are experiencing what is actually an emergency and that they should call 000.

Maybe some schlubs out there think that 000 is too tied up (or ambulances similarly), so they think mentioning an emergency will get them priority attention at their local doctor.

Ironically, we also have a problem where people call 000 for matters which are not emergencies, from merely having a cold to truly selfish, ridiculous reasons to raise an alarm, including demanding a pizza to be ordered and delivered.

I don't, but some who have gotten used to phone trees calling the same company may need to be reminded to stop and listen if the options truly do change. I'm sure there's been instances where someone has called, think they're smart pressing ahead, then are puzzled when they get the wrong department or an error.

The problem with this is no one really judges as to when is enough time after changing the IVR system, so the warning that options have changed remains there forever.

Are you saying that not everybody keeps their websites and information up-to-date?

I think every organisation should publish their phone option tree on their website

Yes, regularly. This message is useful for services I need to call all the time!

Currently Banyan Tree Bangkok CMO.

I have a stay in a couple of weeks and I recently got an email, that, due to a refurbishment:

please be advised that our iconic Vertigo Rooftop Restaurant, Moon Bar, and Saffron Restaurant will be temporarily closed for refurbishment from 15 June to 28 November 2026. During this period, alternative dining experiences will be available within the hotel, and our team would be delighted to recommend suitable options during your stay.

Nothing on the website when I booked about this and in my booking it is still welcoming me to partake of those very same facilities. 😞 When I pointed this out to them, they said alternative facilities will be available and offered me a 30% discount on them.

"For your convenience and following customer feedback we are removing many of the reasons why people come to stay with us and providing alternatives" - that have always been available anyway.. And will likely be packed out as a result.

Which country is this in?

In some countries/cultures, a bath is really just for relaxing rather than washing. You'd wash and rinse yourself in a shower, then relax in the tub.

That said, we know that's not universal, so having at least soap at the bath would be wise. Even some bath salts or a bath sphere (not saying the word) would be nice. Must be a lack of design rethink when hotels went from loose amenities to refilled bottles.

As for the vaping, must be one of those cultures where they aren't as strict about smoking compared to Australia.

The brown thing on the end of the bath would have once had soap and miniatures…
