What cheeses me off

yep - I get that but why would you have a Medicare app that doesn't contain your Medicare card - I just find it very odd
But it’s not the Medicare app. It’s a renamed “My Health Records” app which uses different MyGov permission/access.

Confusing that they renamed it? 🤷‍♂️

Unless they’re planning to bring back some of the old Medicare app functions?

Sure is. That's why I'm going to have to front Medicare/Services Australia tomorrow.

All because an updated Medicare card wasn't sent or got lost somewhere.
What’s in MyGov?

What’s in MyGov?

This is the app I'm talking about and it was formerly my health app

Did you turn on Digital ID? Pretty sure once you do that, the username/password access stops working.

Instead you enter your email address and use the MyID Authentication app for the 2FA code.

Hmmm... maybe I did accidentally click on Digital ID.

If I reset my password through 'Forgot password', it still doesn't recognise me, even though it confirmed the password reset. 'Error: Your sign in details are incorrect. (RFM10A)'. That would fit with your idea that clicking on Digital ID has killed username/password access.

I tried 2FA through MyID (which I already had installed - with 'Basic' indentity strength) but it wants me to increase my ID strength before proceeding ('Error: Strengthen your Digital ID. Your Digital ID doesn't meet the requirements for MyGov.') and that's where I encounter the inpenetrable problem of not having two usable identity documents because of having no updated Medicare card and the system not recognising a WA MDL.

So that's why I see the only way out of this impasse is to front Medicare and get a digital Medicare card or order a new physical card and wait for it to arrive.

So - all caused by failing to receive an updated Medicare card in the snail-mail.

W(still)CMO. Yeah I know it shouldn't bother me but it does. Sports reporters and news readers who earn good money but could not care enough to research how to pronounce names (people, places, etc) correctly. Take some pride in your work, pronunciation is an integral component of delivering news accurately.
Today that idiot sports reporter on ABC morning news (Sunday) is still mispronouncing Dutch F1 driver Max Verstappen's name, insisting it contains an 'sh' sound, today even pausing over the 'sh' sound to emphasise the error. Is he doing this to give me the irrits? Of-course it's not all about me (sometimes it isn't). So s4it on it mate.
Or it could be WCMO - the bogan addition of sh to most st sounds - in English. Such as shtudents, shtreets, etc used even by ABC newsreaders. Closely followed by the “gs” sound for x used in egsit and lugsury x but weirdly I am yet to hear someone mention a bogs of chocolates. Of the ubiquitous millennial and younger “thuh app” or “thuh eggs” instead to “thee app” or “thee eggs. Arghh I think I’m getting old and grumpy.
My Medicare card expired in May but I did not receive a replacement.

I need to get into Medicare via MyGov to request a new one.

But MyGov has, without any warning, locked me out even though I'm using the same usewrname and password that's worked for the last few years. Email address login won't work either. I think the system wants me to increase the strength of my credentials.

Gah! Why won't it let me in using the credentials that worked until recently and then tell me to increase the strength?

So I try to set up a new MyGov account. I scan my passport OK but then it needs another form of ID - driver's license or - you guessed it - Medicare card.

The system will not recognise my WA MDL (it does say some states' MDLs aren't recognised.)

Double Gah! :mad::mad:

I need the updated Medicare card as the second authenticator, so tomorrow it is going to be a trip to Medicare (and possibly Services Australia) to sort out this mess. Hopefully they can give me a digital Medicare card as apparently a new plastic card takes a few weeks to produce.

Sheesh! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Oh I feel your pain @JohnM

Oh I feel your pain @JohnM Call myGov to assist, uninstall the digital app (its a POS4it) and go back to normal login.

Definitely need to do that or rock up as planned.

Unfortunately it’s not as simple as that. As above, once you go Digital ID login, the old user name and password option is dead.

This is what I see now:

But obviously I can login via Digital ID on the website. The app usually stays connected.
