I'm still in awe that they had the cheek to do that. They had been to wine regions and bought themselves wine to take home. I don't even like going to someone's house for dinner and not taking a bottle of wine and/or some food

Geez. I don't understand someone's mindset like that.

We had guests recently. We were going out to dinner so we just served pre dinner drinks and nibbles. They brought a bottle of bespoke gin and a beautiful candle in holder for CNY. We had planned on paying for dinner (repaying the dinner party they had at their home) but they didn't know that in advance.

I must admit I was a bit concerned that they would get stuck but they were flying home via Perth and had a night there so that was OK.

Situation salvaged - I just found 50p when I washed the sheets!!! Maybe they left it there deliberately
