Is there a native Deakin control apo for phones etc?
Of course!.
I have 3 Daikin AC all controlled via Daikin Airbase App
Each AC requires a Daikin Airbase unit generically known as a Daikin Wifi controller , hardwired to it for it to be controllable via App
Setup does not require the original remote. Ours are ducted AC, so ordinarily no remote is supplied as there is a wall controller.
I can control Fan speed, AC mode and zone operation. Scheduling still needs to be done at the actual AC unit itself
Speaking of Apps to control dumb electrical devices. I've discovered
Shelly. These are wifi connected electrical relays that operate dumb devices.
I've booked the electrician to come over to to connect the dumb old school electric storage water heater to it as I get 3 hours of free electricity between 1100-1400 each day.
Currently it is powered by solar but when there is not enough solar I have to manually turn it on at 1100.
So it is AC power >> Shelly relay >> high current contactor >> water heater.
Who knew that old school electric water heaters are still a thing these days. No enshittification here. Shelly has DIN mountable relays which means it can sit nicely in a fuse box on a DIN rail next to the other circuit breakers
