What cheeses me off

Trying to ring Qantas Hotels to change a credit card for the payment of the balance of a forthcoming hotel stay. Using. 02 8059 0182 as I’m in Japan as outlined on the website and in their email. Either I get the “You have rung outside of office hours” message when I haven’t based on Sydney time or the menu selections don’t offer the QF Hotels choice….only QFF, flight & accom package deals, flight bookings. They will only accept credit card details over the phone. Grrr.

I have to take one of the companies off my WCMO list. Three QR employees went above and beyond today and this is the result.

Yes I have my jacket back. Started with the supervisor at ZRH who sorted the problem with our tickets out but when I mentioned my jacket she rang lost property at DOH and they obviously said they couldn’t do anything with out a QR PNR so she generated one and delivered it to me after I had boarded.

Next a supervisor at DOH who I randomly asked where was the lost property office was. He asked which flight I had lost my luggage so I told no a jacket on a flight from BKK a month ago. He then said I will go and ask them myself. Came back and said which seat were you in- 10F. Ok come with me we will go to our business transfer desk and one of the agents will do the paperwork and bring your jacket back.

Third the agent who had to do all the paperwork. Much worse than a Government department. Oh that’s right QR is a Government department. She was wonderful and even apologised for the time it took. I just thanked her and said- “All’s well that ends well.”

DYKWIA? Well they do now @drron . Well done.

Can you clarify for me? Why didn’t you have a QR PNR? And if you didn’t, how did she generate one?
I'm guessing @drron booked the QR flight on a partner (AA maybe?). Carriers on a ticket issued by another carrier sometimes have their own PNR that is different to the one who issued the ticket, and many airlines are exceptionally bad at showing what those partner PNRs are (VA is a notable exception).

I don't know about generating one - maybe they had to make up a PNr to sort out this small issue, even if it was a rubbish flight or something on it.

Yes the flights are all AA awards and the only PNR I could find was the AA one.
Thinking about it now I am sure it was all due to the Supervisor in ZRH. All the agents had Dnata lanyards on apart from the 3 Supervisors in QR uniform.
She will have a nice email sent to the highest level possible.
