What cheeses me off

I can’t be the only one that finds jokes/humour related to events recently in Victoria involving mushrooms, not funny and unpleasant?

People died FFS, what if it was one of your family, funny then?

:(
I agree but I haven't seen anything humour posted online, but more like trying to understand what's happened. Haven't been in to reddit etc

Agreed
What also really upset me was that gorgeous RecipeTinEats author Nagi has been inundated by press since the media showed and kept referencing the beef wellington recipe from her book.
I do not know anyone that does not use her wonderful recipes. She donates all her advertising revenue to her kitchen that feeds hundreds of vulnerable people every day a nutritious meal. She is amazing, decent and kind. She had to put out an instagram post today that she would not discuss this case any further.

Totally agree. She is just a lovely generous person

When I was chatting to one of the stall holders in the Truro market (Greek lady who made the most wonderful cakes) she knew who Nagi was and loved her recipes

Last week I called my insurer to query a massive price increase, agent couldnt answer my questions and said an assessor would call me back.

Finally call me back today and then wont tell me anything until i give them a bunch of PII. Im like no you called me, so i dont need to validate myself. She said how do I know you are you, um because you called my registered mobile, I said how do I know you are really from insurer. Then she said in that case you will have to call the switchboard and validate again via call centre. I'm said can please get your name to be routed to you, she says no - grrr.

So I call their care number, get through to an agent, validate myself and then the agent again cant help and said she will have to have someone call me back. Im like no Im not going through this nonsense again, please cancel my policy.

Cheesed off even more because I took this policy out with a different insurer who then sold off this business and my policy. Since this has happened I've lost online visibility of the policy (still waiting for new company to provide credentials, whereas used to be in online banking) and they can never help when you call.

They then send me an email saying they have recorded my complaint. I will be following up with a formal written complaint; other companies can register you for online account over the phone; they obviously dodgy, i cant imagine what they would be like to claim against.

WCMO today is what its almost as expensive to get a Pyrex replacement lid as it is to buy a whole new container.

I own about 20 glass pyrex containers that I use to freeze lunches/dinners. I have accumulated them over the last 25 years . I like glass as it doesn't leach chemicals into your food when you microwave it, it doesn't get stained by curry/tomato based sauces and it can go from oven to freezer to microwave/oven, dishwasher without issue.

Some of the plastic lids have started to split or break but the glassware is as good as the day I bought it. So i thought someone must sell replacement lids.

All the aussie resellers want about $7-15 per lid!!! Obscene, with prime sales I could get new container with lid for about $8 but I dont nee more glass bowls and dont like the waste.

I did eventually manger to order from USA with free prime shipping for just over $4 each but you'd think there would be reasonably priced options locally.

I am not having much luck lately with Pyrex. I poured boiling water into a small measuring jug two days ago and it shattered. Then last night I was putting away a mixing bowl a bit too enthusiastically and it also broke.

The bowl was close to 50 years old. We now only have two bowls of the set left. It is the same set as in this ad on E Bay -:

Seems a it unlucky, mine are clear glass and ive dropped on tiled kitchen floor with frozen contents inside and they haven't chipped or broken its just the coughpy plastic lids that only last about 20 years.

Our bowls have been well used so it was not too much of a shock. The jug annoyed me and I do see a lot of on-line chatter that Pyrex changed their glass formula a few years ago and they are now much less tough.
