WCMO is Qantas has started messing with its trans Tasman schedule for Dec & Jan and the usual time chnages are comming through thick and fast with promise of new e-tickets. Usually the e-tickets come through straight away, but for 4 changes last week only 1 new e-ticket has come through. Why the delay?

Not overly worried as all are QF flights and a mix of domestic connections and trans-tasman BUT I dont want to have to call up to get the new e-ticket if they dont arrive and I cant check-in online.

Have you checked on the website to see if you have to “Accept” the change?

Changes have all be between 20 mins and 1 hour, emails says no need to accept. As impacted itineraries are ZQN and CHC there arent really other flights that work better, if it had been AKL then much more choice.

Today I decided to do the "WW2 Tunnels Operations" tour, and the canon-level terrace for the canon firing. The best view of the canon firing is on the deck above, for free but I did that last time and its very crowded so I did the paid terrace thing this time.

There is no posted schedule of fees for the various tours and I was surprised to find that the WW2 tunnels tour was 17 euros. That's very expensive - for comparison, the Hypogeum underground tour, which you have to book 3 months ahead, is very limited in number and was much more elaborate than this tunnels tour, was 20 euros and most attractions were around 10-15 euros. The canon firing terrace was 3 euros.

Well, the WW2 tunnel operations tour, run by a volunteer was awful. It was supposed to go for about 45 mins but ended up 75 mins. Most of that extra half hour was the guide telling 'little jokes', saying how much work he had done that day, rambling on about something irrelevant. Very heavily accented, spoken very fast. Constantly asking him to repeat himself. Half the tour isn't on the WW2 tunnels and operations. It was a nice trip around the fort, including outside views, and a bit of history of Malta, which was also nice, but it wasn't WW2. Dropped the F-bomb a couple of times - didn't offend me - but really? There were a few 'war rooms' viewed and explained at the very end but only about 100m or so max of actual tunnels walked. Overall very disappointing, especially considering the cost.

At the end, they pressed for Trip Advisor reviews and gave out little cards with the guides name on it.

I'm strongly inclined to give a bad review - not excoriating, but just comparing the cost with the tour content and the guide's shortcomings. My review.

But its a volunteer outfit and funds go to their running of the show.

I would submit an honest and balanced review of your experience. It could provide an opportunity for the volunteer organisation to improve their tour in the future.

it sounds like you are conflicted between support for the work of the group versus this particular guide (who sounds awful). Maybe write to the organisation to vent and make a decision thereafter.

I agree with @MARTINE - email the "company" first and then if not a satisfactory response then a balanced review on TA. Personally anybody that asks me for a review on TA generally gets one but it isn't always flattering. I was at the firing of the cannons in March and it was packed so it must have been chaos at this time of the year

I've been in this cottage in Cornwall for just on three months. How on earth have I managed to accumulate so much stuff. Luckily one of the girls at the business where I was working has offered to come and take food and a few things but honestly. Our rather expensive Get your guide tour person in Hiroshima was very disorganised and did not really meet expectations. Their booking site kept bugging me for a review of this guide. I chose not to. For a Japanese person this would be humiliating.

I'd let it go as a personal comment and not focus on the person but the tour itself. So comment on value, the sites you saw, or didn't see etc. Let people draw their own conclusions. Some might have enjoyed what they saw rather than the correct nature of what the tour should have been.
