What cheeses me off

Look at my new car - doesn’t it sparkle? 👍
Too soon methinks.

WCMO - Joyce citing privacy reasons why he can't disclose why a PMs son was given CL access. So then asked - what are the criteria. Oh, PrIvacy again. Was he going to pay back JobKeeper? Well yes, we will pay company taxes. 🤬😂

Was he going to pay back JobKeeper? Well yes, we will pay company taxes.

The answer is no re JobKeeper; always has been no; always will be no.

He actually had a credible answer as to why 'no', when pressed - but he couldn't give that straightforward answer - just had to try to muddy the waters by referring to paying company tax. The whole thing was an exercise is dissembling. What about the QR decision? "Look at the competition on the US routes!" "Look at Singapore Airlines! Look at China Airlines!"

But he implied it was Yes!

WCMO. Getting an upgrade on flight Adl - Mel but not on the desired next flight - Mel - DPS. There were still two seats last night on expert flyer. I will make sure that I can get my share of champagne and food in the F Lounge instead. Well, that was going to happen anyway. 🤭. We should have around 3 hours there on current schedule.

WCMO more - the two J seats are still there on EF.

WCMO. Adelaide airport security. There are currently three completely different processes for scanning and it’s random which one you get so you can’t prepare. One is the original - everything out and walk through. One is nothing out and full body scan with empty pockets. The other is everything out of bags and pockets and different body scan. There are maybe six security people at each station. Than the explosives at the end. An absolute cluster.

Agree - I went through there last night, and it was a bigger schmozzle than usual. I went through the lane on the right hand side. I had my laptop out and asked about my tablet and electronic notebook; "no leave them in your bag was the answer". When I walked through, with only one small pat down, my briefcase was pulled to one side and I was rebuked for not taking the tablet etc out. It got put back through and when the briefcase came through it was unzipped and wide open. I asked the security person to stay there in front of me as a witness, while I checked the bag to make sure nothing had fallen out or was missing, which she wasn't keen on. I finally managed to get through - it was abit more complicated than it needed to be.

I went through ADL security this morn - nobody in Priority line so I walked straight in whilst 100s in general queue - nothing out of bags was through in like 2 mins

It was a field day for people cheesing me off today. Multi lane roundabouts. Amazing whichever lane I choose someone in front of me is a person who thinks you need to stop at a roundabout until there are no cars on it before you can proceed even though everyone in the other lane is going through it,
Victorian drivers in QLD who have no idea where they are going so drive in the right lane very slowly. Hey look up Google maps before you start.
And a special shout out to the driver of a NSW registered campervan who thought it was OK to park so the back of his campervan was 2 inches from the front of my car even though all but 2 feet of his campervan was in a no parking area. Fortunately I always leave at least a metre between me and the car behind as idiots are just too frequent.

So you went south of the river to to Gold Coast did you? :)

Not so much cheeses me off but looks weird.

Have seen this more than once and can never get used to seeing it. Took daughter to park and a group of guys have a really nice BBQ going. Sitting around while daughter is playing and 50+ metres away is a group of women with kids sitting and talking. The men bring food over and then go back to the group of guys.

I read this article recently which seems to echo your point @mel-world: Why are hotel showers so ridiculously complicated?.

I so relate to this - why so complicated?
If I have to get someone from the hotel to explain to me how to use it — big fail. Spent a week at a hotel in London this year that even with an explanation - I couldn’t get it to do what I wanted.

It's funny you should comment on this just now. I'm doing a report on Bali Intercontinental and love their showers. For a start, they are huge. Delightful. IMG_5018.jpeg

But best of all, these are the controls.

IMG_5019.jpeg

Click on well signed button for rain shower. The other button for wall shower. Adjust temp for both by pressing on small button on dial, right for cooler, left for heat. To turn off, click the button again.

Proving of course, it ain't rocket science to make it simple.

Rarely get an Uber to the airport anywhere let alone Melbourne - prefer public transport. But have done today for convenience sake, and the driver is very skilled in the art of deception. Will be interesting to see what the true fare turns out to be after two needless trips on the Westgate and about 10 excess kilometres. Sigh, I preferred the days when Uber was actually reliable.
