What cheeses me off

If I may clarify by de-verbosing … there’s no actual number/limit for that minimum allowed speed, whereas there is a number/limit for the maximum allowed speed.

Another what cheeses me off - Booking a hotel room only to see the rate drop a day or two later.
Luckily I now only book flexible rates, so make new cheaper booking and cancel the higher cost one....... Only to see it drop again a day or two later, so repeat same process.

Currently have rebooked 4 times in 7 days so far for a stay starting this Friday.

I'm not talking about cyclists - you flat out said there is no such thing as minimum speed limits without qualification.

Yes there is. The key phrase: nor should they drive “more slowly than other vehicles”.

In some countries (eg. the US), they actually signpost minimum limits.

You can't just drive 50Km/h below the speed limit because you feel like it.
1. Cyclists DO NOT DRIVE.
2. Read again - they CANNOT unreasonably obstruct the road by driving slow.
3. A cyclist is NOT obstructing the road since other drivers, who are actually driving, can EASILY pass them
4. Yes, you CAN drive 50 kph below the speed limit, as long as you DO NOT obstruct other drivers.

Really embarrassing when the rule you quote disagrees with your opinion. Really not sure hard this is so hard to understand. So many drivers on the road who need to hand in their licences. The failure of some to understand simple road rules is appalling.

anyway, clearly some people just love their opinions over fact. Nothing more to say on this.

I believe most understand, it’s just inconvenient so they don’t bother.

One they don’t seem to actually know (and which cheeses me off) is the rule about giving way to cars already on the roundabout; too many expect others to give way to the right instead (which usually means giving way to others on the roundabout - but not always).

I guess you missed the first line of my post

There is no obligation to keep walking on travelators. Just stand to one side to let the anxious through.
That reminds me of ANOTHER thing that cheese me off … shopping-trolley wheels for travelators that lock all 4 wheels, rather than just the rear ones which they SHOULD be locking. It means you can’t lift the trolley by the handle & push it up/along the travelator, you’re stuck waiting for the glacial travelator to finally get there, all your icecream melting etc etc.

It does not actually lock the wheels. The grooves of the travelator fit the splines of the wheels which causes the splines to fall into the groove so the wheels never touch the bottom. Adjacent to the wheels is a flat bit which rests on the travelator. This stops the trolley from sliding on the travelator - to allow it to go up and down inclined travelators without having to hold on to it.

I do agree though that the travelators are glacially slow
#WCMO are elevator doors which take an inordinate amount of time to close and the people who are happy to wait for the doors to close without making it quicker by pressing the doors close button

Take the lift?

T5 required to take laptop out and LAG in zip lock bag when we were there.

IME - especially in the US, security rules change frequently.

TSA has a published policy of doing so - I think it's to keep people on their toes (sometimes literally).

eg - Morning flight - shoes on - afternoon flight - shoes off

FWIW, at least in Victoria, a driver can be booked for "speeding" when travelling at a speed which, while being under the maximum posted allowed speed, the speed of travel is at such a speed as may be deemed excessive due to prevaling travel conditions.

Who knows for LHR, the official policy, at least on their website, has been the same as my experience and the website had not changed pre or post LHR attendance.

But likely they are able to change it depending on threat advice.

Regardless, I just look at what the people in front of me are required to do and just do the same.

# WCMO are people who only engage their brain when they are at the front of the security queue.

Where in T5?

BA First Wing last September (used it twice on my trip) didn't have to remove anything.
