What cheeses me off

When a driver is coming up fast behind you but you have slower cars a little in front of you so you stay in the left lane to not slow them down.
Then they slow down as they catch up to you so you have to brake.

People who attempt to check-in to their hotel and maintain a conversation on the mobile. Either call them back or wait 2 minutes before checking in. Behaviour seen more often at expensive hotels.
A few weeks ago I had to queue to check in at bag, the lady in front of me in the queue was on the phone. When she got to top of the queue she continued talking while the check in agent dealt with the bag. Then later after security we went to get a coffee, and guess who was in front of us in the queue? And guess what she was doing?

We see it here all the time, people not just young people seem to feel that they need to have their phones in their hands all the time. What's wrong with being out of contact for an hour or two?

.... Suncorp Home Insurance.

Didn't realise they were this bad. Actually they are awful.

Mum & dads house in Sydney had guttering damaged badly early September in freak storm. This in turn has caused holes in eaves. The guttering is hanging and is dangerous.

I lodged claim online from Thailand. There is no way to talk to anyone over the phone to lodge claim.

Someone out within 2 days to inspect damage. Waited 4 weeks and no contact from them. Called and apparently the report has not been done.

They sent a builder out on Tuesday and they were stunned this has been left so long buy they can't do anything so they have to send someone else to check. Still nothing.

It is now 6 weeks and we haven't gotten anywhere.

And to make it worse mum and dad haven't claimed on home insurance in 45+ years so I increased excess to $2000.

Never again Suncorp....

^ I think you could stick the name of any insurance company into that story, and not just for houses. The car + home insurer I'm with has had a couple of claims from us, both went smoothly & I'm happy, yet I know people who've had shocking claim experiences with them!

About the only type of insurance I can think of where I've never heard a bad story regarding just about EVERY provider is life insurance, I guess it's hard for them to argue in case of a claim there ...

PS. that's not me defending Suncorp in any way, that's me saying your parents shouldn't kick themselves for going with Suncorp.

At Bunnings last week the person checking receipts watched me leaving, so I stopped after I'd gone past and asked if she'd like to see the receipt... "Yes of course"
Proceeds to look at receipt, does not bother looking at what I was actually taking out of the store.

There's also an option to have the receipt SMS'd instead of printed.. don't really see the point of having someone at the doors.
I never voluntarily show those ppl receipts unless they ask.

In France intermarche and Carrefour have barriers at the exit of the self service machines area and you have to scan your receipt before the barriers open. The French supermarkets are always suspicious of people who walk in and out without buying anything.
So what happens when the discounted items I want are out of stock and there's nothing else I want to buy? Have to use the manned checkout?

…………. is when you go to a restaurant / cafe for brekky and order scrambled eggs on toast which are then delivered to you with 2 wrapped pats of butter on side of plate! Like WTF? Am I going to somehow magically levitate these eggs - butter the toast - reposition eggs on top? FFS - butter it first please
I always ask for them deconstructed as I hate soggy toast caused by the eggs.

When you go to the store and can't find a thing to buy you have to go to the customer service desk and they let you out. At my local Intermarche and Auchan they usually just say something like "couldn't find what your looking for?" and then let you out. However at Carrefour in Dijon they get the security guard to check your bags.

I once went to small Aldi store, again near my French house. Its a small store with just one employee. I picked up a packet of biscuits and a bottle of coke and maybe a packet of chips. Got to the cash register to find that the guy in front of me had a full trolley load of stuff. I didn't want to wait so went and put the stuff back. I then proceeded to leave. The cashier got up from her register, left the customer who she was serving waiting and basically blocked me from leaving the store. She demanded that I opened my backpack. Of course there was nothing in it, but no sorry to of bothered you, no thank you. I haven't been to an Aldi since.

Mum and dad can't do any of these things.

I chose Suncorp. I also increased the excess to $2000 as they've never had a claim in 45+ years and saved a little on premium and less than 2 months later need to make a claim.

We are with Apia - for about 4 years now. Noticed a crack in the windscreen suddenly (as in overnight appear- we hadn't had a stone or anything hit the screen) appear in MrMac's 1 year old Kia.Rang Apia, they transferred me direct to Windscreens O'Brian, I booked the car in (a seamless process, called a cab to go to the hire car place, gave me a hire car for 2 days, a cab from hire place back to repairer, sign here, thanks, have a nice day. I haven't had a car claim for many years but I was truly astonished how easy the whole process was. Not sure I'd find the same service if I was trying to make a flood claim in Australia at the moment......
