What cheeses me off

Not plane related, but people using their bag as a shadow to put off people sitting next to them on train/bus/ferry.
That’s easily fixed, have been copping that this past week or two on the Italian rail network, just a quiet ‘Scusi Please’ and plonk ourselves down. Their bags move pretty quickly.

What cheeses me off is people who think no one ever steps out of an elevator?

I mean seriously they can't wait for people to get out of elevator before forcing their way in?
Same with trains, and on escalators when some reach the top, step off and just stop, forcing the multitudes behind them to do a very quick two-step on the moving steps…

What Cheeses Me Off - when customers turn up at the registers to pay & forgot to bring their wallet.

What Cheeses Me Off - when customers are somehow annoyed at me when the etfpos machine won't take their card payments or delays in accepting their payment

What Cheeses Me Off - when customers forget to have their membership card ready to scan, when they very well know that they need to scan their membership to access discounts. Worst is, when they struggle their way around their wallets trying to find their cards, when there is a large queue forming behind them

What Cheeses Me Off - when pax think it's ok to take my aisle seat or row 4 seat so that they can sit next to their group. Ask me first, please :) I rarely say no when someone requests

What Cheeses Me Off - when customers won't update their contact numbers on their membership and get annoyed at me when I say that the system tells me that the number you provided is incorrect.

What Cheeses Me Off - when I approach customers and ask if they need any assistance in finding anything and they just walk away, ignoring what I had just asked

What Cheeses Me Off - when I greet customers and ask how they are, they just stare, say nothing and wave their credit/debit card on my face signalling that they just pay and leave

What Cheeses Me Off - when customers abuse staff when we refuse service because the customer is intoxicated or displaying signs of intoxication

What Cheeses Me Off - when customers think it's ok to throw money on the table and leave with the merchandise, before even I have had the chance to count the money to see if it's correct
I can understand why you are cheesed off, and I feel the need to apologise for these actions even though I don't do them 🤗

On the rare occasions I go to the office I am amazed at the number of cyclists who insist on entering the elevator at the train station before I can get out.
Cyclists in general; the weather is dark early in winter and you're hard to see at the best of times, Lights and high-vis gear should be compulsory.

A basic knowledge of and compliance with road rules would be nice.

What cheeses me off is the concept of cashiers from express line in supermarkets abandoning their stations regardless of how long the express line is to immediately shoot off to serve any person who fronts the counter out front to buy gaspers - I have nothing against those who choose to participate in cigs but why are they more important?

5 times agree

And historically:

What cheeses me off is families travelling with uncontrollable babies and kids in J class. I recently just came off a QF flight in J last week with a couple and 2 children (around 1 yrs and 3yrs respectively). I thought you know what - I don't have an issue if they are well behaved however I was trying to adjust to EU time so wanted to sleep on this 12 hour flight for most of it.

It started off with them refusing to take their seats on the ground because they were "not next to each other". They had not looked at the seat map properly and selected seats which were not next to each other. They refused to sit unless they were moved - which the flight attendant reluctantly agreed to after 15 mins of back and forth discussion.

As it took off, the kids were running up and down the aisle. I just wanted to eat my meal and get off to bed - but the kids kept blocking the aisle and making meal service extremely slow. I could see the flight attendants getting pissed off. After meal service - I try to sleep only to be prevented by endless crying, the kid climbing onto the seat in front of me and kicking my seat. I had my eye shades on yet this kid was trying to talk to me and wake me up. The dad couldn't care less - except tell the kid once to sit down then gave up.

And for the rest of flight I proceeded to get 0 hours of sleep even though I was laying down for half the flight. Any time I tried to get the service of the flight attendants, they were too busy telling the kids to sit down, attending to the needs of the parents or even telling the parents to sit down. It was an absolute bloody cough show.

Can I just say I don't have an issue with kids/babies in J, given the connecting flight I had the exact same except the kid slept the whole way or was extremely well behaved. I was honestly considering asking for compensation given that I could have travelled in economy and gotten better service and/or sleep.

Get a single large bag and stop looking like you were evacuated from home in the middle of the night.

Massive sexist generalisation follows:
I’m going to come to the defence of what I imagine is the poor chap on the right and say he’s probably just helping carry some of the bags his significant other wants taken… 😊

From personal experience, I’ve given up the argument of, “honey, I know you’ve gotten away with three or four carry on items in the past but the rule is one and your handbag…”

What (Really) Cheeses Me Off: Geoblocking

Ok I live outside Australia but I am sure it must be inconvenient for those who travel regularly too. Thankfully VPN helps a lot of the time.
I like to have a bet each day. Sportsbet and TAB websites are 2 I cannot access in Thailand (And Singapore and Hong Kong) without VPN. Funny enough Bet365 and Ladbrokes are OK.

Now if you know me you'll know I hate paying for anything that should be free. Last 30 day trip I misjudged the dates and just fell short with free versions of Tunnelbear and Alvira Phantom VPN. I also signed up for free 1 week trial of Urban VPN. Next 30 day trip need to manage the dates better.
