I'm travelling to London later this month with BA in World Travveler Plus cabin. Is it any good? Are the aircraft modern? Are there any tips for seating? Thanks!

Welcome to AFF!

is it any good - not really, with BA you get whY food and service but the seat is better then whY

are the aircraft modern - not really no, the WT+ cabin is showing it's age

Do you have status with OW otherwise BA charge for seat alocation.

In my experience a couple of years ago, it was better than Y, but not as good as QF Y+.

The seating was ok - the width was good but legroom not significantly better than in Y. Food was ok, but not as good as QF (my flight was via BKK and the food out of there was particularly average - tasted like everything had sugar in it - the food for the segments out of LHR and SYD was a lot better).

Service was usual BA rubbish - but even their J class is pretty bad.

At least it is significantly cheaper than QF - if not I'd recommend to rebook with QF.

I'd pretty much echo the views expressed so far. Food is very ordinary, you get a bit more room in the seat and the service is very ordinary, and on two of the sectors I flew last year it was terrible. The planes look and feel jaded.

I was however lucky enough to receive Op-Ups on two of the 8 sectors I flew in 2010 and I thought the J service and experience was OK.

I have whY+ BA return to LHR in April myself. :-|

Yep. What they said.

I did PE on BA SYD-LHR and LHR-EWR in November last year. Not the most spectacular aircraft, but I was still very pleased not to be in Y. It still made a very big difference to how I felt when I arrived. (Scored an exit row LHR-EWR too, which was nice.) And I thought the food was ok.

PE LAX-SYD on QF however, really did show what BA's version is lacking. Better service, better planes, better food, better pillows and blankies.

(And in between EWR and LAX was a hideous flight with Frontier. DO NOT!)

Thank you all for your comments. Let's see if I can't wing an exit aisle...

Unfortunately enough the aircraft that fly ex Sydney do not have an exit row in the WT+ section.

I flew BA WT+ last year. Yes the food isn't great (mind you it isn't great in the J cabin) but the extra room is a significant benefit if you are tall like me.

One other nbenefit is the decent SCs and points you get over whY.

+1

280 SC's for me return to LHR(I fly ex MEL so whilst a bit of a pain having to fly to SYD, the extra 40 SC's for full economy proved handy in my an annus horrilibis when I only made WP by 5 SC's.) :)
