Anyone got any exciting plans for Valentines Day this year?
I was reminded about the special day by my partner and I must admit - I actually forgot.
I just called Centurion to see what they could "muster up" for me... what an interesting experience to say the least. Call went like this:
[Ring Ring]
Operator: "Welcome to Centurion Concierge"
Me: "Hi, I was wondering if you could suggest a few ideas for Valentines Day dinner for me and my partner"
Operator: "I can send you a list of fine dining Centurion restaurants"
Me: "Ok but last year there was a whole heap of information that was sent out re: special menus and functions at partner restaurants - is this not...[interrupted]"
Operator: "No... I will send you the list and I can call them up and see re: availability"
Me: "So do you know if there many restaurants are booked out?"
Operator: "Yeah, a lot of them are booked out"
Me: "Which ones?"
Operator: "I don't know"
Me: "What do you mean? Im sure were not the first V day request coming through to you guys?"
Operator: "Look - there are 50 operators here... [rambled something like how was she meant to know what restaurants were booked out when there are so many operators individually calling up restaurants]"
This was where I cracked the sh!ts. I forget exactly how the call went, as I was red with rage, but she was the most unhelpful & surly concierge person I ever spoke to. I thought, the one bloody difficult-ish request I sent through to them and they are pushing back on me?
Anyway, she is going to check with a few colleagues and let me know whats booked out and what isn't (though - this wasn't forthcoming, much like pulling teeth). I also mentioned that it might be an idea for her and her colleagues to put together a register of some kind so they can be more responsive with future Valentines day requests from other card members. As if it's that hard?
SO... I might not have anything to do on V day, depending on how this one pans out. I could just try again with my favourite Cent Concierge guy, whose name will remain silent on this forum for fear of loosing him to the masses
