What’s the point of being in a loyalty program with qantas?

Assuming that the OP was a genuine very miffed person, usually at this point in a thread where the OP seems to have disappeared I wonder if they’ve actually learned anything from all the very useful information and experience that others have posted. But quite often the OP just disappears after the rant.

@Mara, are you still there? Do you know what you need to do next time now?
I learn nothing other than ignore any so called advice when I am being attacked. Here is another example of swarming on someone airing a complaint. Not everyone is as cluey as we are. Not everyone knows all the tricks regardless of how educated they are.

And yes I do realise the OP could be a troll. That's no excuse for attacking them.

That was a genuine question not an attack. And it still doesn’t read like an attack to me, the writer.

A great example of where this forum fails. The 10000+ post gorillas around here can attack any noobie in any way they like. If that person objects or responds the mob descends on them with their pitchfork and torches.

It goes both ways, juddles has no idea about the OP why defend their offensive attack on the OP?

Because I know juddles and realise that is his way and it isn't meant to be offensive.See his replies above explaining his original comment.
And by the way offense is a personal opinion. How do you know I am not offended by being called a 10000 post gorilla?
You must also realise that what you describe happens to newbies who join up to have a rant. Those who join that have a question or merely to sift through the knowledge here are welcomed.Too many of the ranters never appear again.
And yes it is true that people can be put to the torch here on AFF but on the other hand others come in and offer support. We were all newbies once. Also realise that many on here really are frequent travellers or possibly obsessed by loyalty programs so really cant understand how someone who has 15 years as SG could have so little knowledge of such a simple task as getting seat allocation.

I know you weren't doing the attacking.

My point was any information you (not you personally, the mob) try to shove down someone's throat is not very useful at all. There have been a number of attacks in this thread (and other threads) and that's not the way to deliver information.

And as I mentioned just because something sounds simple to someone does not mean it's simple to anyone else.

I was actually unaware until this moment of the term "quaternary". What is that?

You say there are systems that lounges have to alert crew to trouble-makers. (or potential). I stand by my record of never having had a problem. It is not alcohol by itself that is a problem. It is people. Individuals. "Unneeded headache"? I am certain that the crew that have "suffered me" did not actually suffer. They greet me on the next flight with warmth.

please do not put me in a box that you have. I will not fit.
I believe the OP is referring to a post graduate qualification. "Tertiary" meaning university or similar qualification in Australian context. Quaternary is an unusual term to use in academic circles for qualifications in an Australian academic record context.

So, we might postulate several things about the OP.

My bet is still on 'having a lend'.

Quaternary has come in to regular use in the medical world. The head of RPA explained recently that it had that classification because of the teaching, research and specialist centres at the campus eg Lifehouse.

But not everyone does, so for their benefit it would be wise to give benefit of doubt, and not attack (like others)?

Remind me about zen again?

I still think she is real - anyone having the patience to join AFF a couple of years ago before finally posting a rant is, IMHO, unlikely to be the work of a troll. I think?

And she did say both that she was about to travel, and would not read any more posts:

.....We leave from Athens tomorrow I am expecting a back row seat!...

..... I am beginning to think that all these responses are planted by the airlines to smear me. I will no longer read them!......

Perhaps she made is far as Dubai but ran into "trouble" again asking for another seat change?

No - it was perhaps because of the mandatory RSA training that cabin crew have to adhere to.

Subjective, perhaps but cabin crew couldn't use their training prior to passengers turning up.

Having completed RSA training for my bar (some of you have partaken a Beveridge in) I can say it's a waste of time.

Well since I think this thread will soon be locked for going off the rails and the OP seemingly gone (or a troll) I just want to thanks for this so I've actually LEARNED something new :)

Honestly I thought quaternary meant a Masters or Ph.D level being reached.

I'm only a Batch, so it's always good to learn a seemingly niche term and have more of an idea about what it means :)

Vic, forgive me, but what of anything i wrote did you find to be an "offensive attack" of the OP? Just curious.

I think the person that was the most hostile and "attacking" in this thread was the OP - look at her replies to other posters....

....

Primary is where most people start at age 5 or 6
Secondary normally means "high school" (well in "western" countries)
Tertiary seems to indicate some one with a university under-graduate diploma (BS ???)
Quaternary would be a graduate degree of some sort (eg piled higher and deeper)

Just wandering
Fred

Before anyone else is permitted to post in this thread, they must provide evidence of their tertiary qualifications and responsible service of alcohol certificate - we can then create a hybrid TV show of Border Security and RBT.
