I was specific: " PS...It does not even have to be your flight..."

I just searched for a route with the lowest cost above $1.

It was not the route, or even day that she flew on.

Thanks, I've just given this a whirl :D *fingers crossed*

On a side note, I registered my black amex in 2016, spent and received my passes.
This year I was unable to register the amex and the website only allowed me to register the mastercard, which I did but was confused about why I couldn't register & thus spend on the amex...

Hey guys
I registered and did a carbon offset in mid may, but no passes seen yet - how long did people have to wait to see some passes?
Cheers!

I'm in a similar boat, did the carbon offset on 20/6 and haven't seen any passes yet...not even sure who to follow up with, would it be the Altitude rewards team?

I did an offset too, back in April. No passes and I needed to cancel the card last week, so didn't bother following up. Probably little use in following up as I didn't spend on any flight products in the first place.

Does the lounge passes only apply for primary card holder or does it apply for supplementary card holder too? cheers

What's the validity on passes these days? I'd like to order a couple of passes now and then another couple in January, given the T&Cs say per year, but I'd want 14 months minimum validity.

I have had good pass validity periods from Westpac up to 18 months but have not been able to establish a pattern. ANZ seem to be shorter.

I am pretty sure the “per year” is from the payment of the annual fee not calendar year. It makes sense, i.e. pay your fee and get 12 months to make qualifying transaction.

I am now ready to churn ANZ for the second time round but can’t because neither I nor family have any upcoming Qantas flights where we can add a $1 carbon offset. Would like to get a pair of passes out of them before churning.

An earlier inquiry asked about the supplementary card. I am afraid the passes apply to the account not the cards themselves. Though the qualifying spending can be by either card.

I can confirm a Qantas Future Planet carbon offset payment of $1.63 triggered the lounge passes. There were a few phone calls required but they came.

Thanks eJamie. I followed up by phone after seeing your post. Westpac today advised that despite signing up properly and the spend (~$1.50 on 'flights' (read random carbon offset)) being confirmed, there was an issue and the passes were never sent out. They apologised and confirmed passes will be with me within 4 weeks.

Would suggest anyone else who followed the process and did a random carbon offset follow up by phone.

Just got the pass yesterday.

That carbon offset actually works, and I only paid $1.04 (Sydney - Brisbane, 1 passenger).

Too bad will cancel the card, since the annual fee kick in and earning rate is not as good as AMEX's Qantas discovery.
