Methinks the Airline has done some market research and the results came back with a resounding no for Mobile telephone calls, so the SMS is plan B.

Note that when using the SMS service will be charged at International rates; not your normal 25¢.

If the use of a mobile is that unpopular , then people won't use it and so it would have no impact; if people do use it , then it shows that the airline is offering a service which people do want

If smoking were allowed then there would be people would taking advantage to the detriment of fellow travellers. One needs to consider the impact on all travellers, not just those that would use the service.

Personally, I wouldn't be fussed if they allowed smoking again. In some respects there would be gains since the amount of recycled air would be reduced and the amount oif fresh air increased
