That's my question what service are you not getting. I listed a couple of services that are still forthcoming despite of the reassessment. What service is missing? What are you not getting as a customer? Well besides the appropriate DYKWIA recognition. ;)

I'm a touch OCD with these things. When I qualify for something I expect to...mmmm...well....qualify. I don't expect to see a message telling me, after pretty much exceeding qualification by almost double, that I am being "assessed".(12 days and counting.) I don't get this with Qantas, and I don't expect it with Virgin. I agree it is a little illogical, but hey that is me. I know, unlike yourself, I'm only an occasional flyer but I hope I have some value to DJ.

Well as of this morning I am no longer under assessment and everything is the way it should be. Review date was 30 August.

I am glad I dont have to worry about this anymore!!!!!!

With your SC totals I guess you're an occasional flyer in the same way I'm an occasional walker.

I guess one difference is I knew in my heart that I'd qualified so could easily ignore the reassessment message. But I can see how it would be disconcerting.

I know it seems odd but I don't see myself as a "frequent flyer" like you guys who really are doing the grind week in week out. My travel patterns tend to be long haul J or F(ASA) every few weeks...hence the SC totals. (It is slowly going to change to Y and Y+ I fear, presumably followed by air freight, unless the iron ore and coal prices rise again.)

.....and I'm still under review!!! I feel like an innocent victim being treated like a criminal!!!! :p

I got comp'ed to Silver last September. Have not taken a single flight with DJ since...ZERO chance of my activity being reviewed!

I'm now at 12 days, and had it not been for two fabulous J trans-con flights on the A330 and two additional op-ups between MEL and SYD in the last two weeks, my patience would be absolutely running out too. I'm with TonyHancock on this one - it is a very poor customer experience.

I don't understand what there is to "assess". I have earned the minimum
SCs, flown around 50 segments, and achieved Partner Platinum as well as pooling someone else to Platinum as well. That's pretty much Triple-Platinum! If the system can assess status upgrades overnight then it should be able to do renewals as well. This is just poor system planning and delivery.

The only people that should be put into this holding pattern should be people who have just missed out and they want to make sure no additionally SCs are due to credit. If you missed out by more than 100-200 SCs then they should drop you a level immediately and then if anything comes through afterwards then they can bump you up again. The month grace means there wouldn't be a problem anyway. But if you have clearly qualified there is absolutely no excuse for the system to not process it automatically overnight. If an IT team that delivered my systems at work screwed up this badly I'd have them crucified.

Rant over!

I suspect the DJ team is too busy giving Platinum Status to occasional fliers for another year to be bothered by looking after genuine platinum FF's.

Oh well it is DJ's loss. I'm back with QF again now.

Have to agree with this. I'm also at 12-odd days in "limbo". It's just not a pleasant way to be.

In my case, I personally easily requalified, but I am interested in whether SWMBO and Miss D have requalified, as it will affect how I set up family pooling from here onwards. (All should requalify on SCs but there are issues with sectors flown for Miss D).

One thing it *definitely* has already done is had me booking Qantas exclusively for the last 2 weeks until it is clear what the DJ status situation for us all will be.

As of Oct 1 I'm back with QF too for work - but that's due to the company changing the contract. There are some things I will miss - the proper priority boarding and quite a few op-ups recently.

I still dont understand how this affects your flying with Virgin.

I am not saying that it is ideal, however what are you missing - the fact that when you look at your online account you dont feel loved? Is it not the actual experience with the flights that really matter. Just putting it out there!

The reason I fly Virgin is because they do do most things very well. There is room for improvement but they are getting there. I just find this obsession with the status on your accounts to be petty and you are entitled to your opinion as am I.

If something as fundamentally basic as status assessment is this shoddy what else doesn't work? MrsH received the bonus comp upgrade, then WP status, and the bonus comp upgrade disappeared.

Is status still recognised on partner airlines? Will this still be a problem one month into the new status year? (After all I was given a status reassessment date and it has not been met, why would I believe this will be fixed a month later?)

It is just very, very poor.

I have opted to assess Virgin and my next months flights will be with Qantas. I'm prepared to tolerate the QF lack of priority boarding because of this system failure.

So its the fact that it might affect, not actual.

Maybe I am too easily pleased!:D

I am out - your concerns are hypothetical, not real.

I have no issue with your concerns, just don't understand them. They are yours and if thats what makes you fly with the Roo, then thats fine.

I have a card that expired on the 31st August, DJ says it is valid for a month....and Etihad says what? I have done far too much travel to get caught out by that. You'll find out when you travel a fair bit.
