Ways of buying Velocity points?

I have a booking directly with velocity and I did a points plus pay business booking. They are saying I will get only the points I used and a credit on my cc for the cash I paid.

It's a shame as I could really use the points.

This thread is talking about making a booking through the Priority Club Hotel programme, not through velocity, hence the confusion.

The example above was in relation to priority club points - which can then be converted to velocity points. It is not for velocity points plus pay bookings.
