Wa Dst

I grew up in WA, moved to NSW for 12 years and I loved DST there.

However I just don't think WA needs it.. it is very annoying going to work in the dark in the middle of summer (!)

I also voted No because they were planning to only have it here say Dec-Feb and that would have caused even more confusion, having differrent start and finish times than the Eastern States.

Some areas of the country, eg the Wheatbelt, voted 10 to 1 against DLS. Couple that with the pretty much split city vote and you can see why it failed.

Now we just would like late night and Sunday trading we'll be happy.

They did also have a by-election same day, so wasn't a total waste.

The Greens look like beating Labor for the seat of Fremantle.
It'll be the second time a green candidate has won a lower house seat in Oz - both times the Liberals/Nats did not field a candidate.
