VISA Waiver Program to USA

Is APIS definitely required? When i click to enter it on the QF desktop website it doesnt load and bring me back to the MMB page. Anyone else have the same issue?

A word of warning for new ETSA applications. You now need to upload photo of passport and it is a PITA. Use chrome and latest version of software and then pray it accepts things like email addresses. Took 3 devices and an hour to get one application done.
Do you think this applies to people that have current ESTA's or only for new applications?

Thanks for the warning. Will give myself plenty of time to sort out my new ESTA.

Can you remember what format of photo it accepts ? Will jpeg be OK ?

It would never accept a live shot of passport. So took photo on ipad and then uploaded as per their instructions.

Was pretty simple to do the 2 kids ESTA last week (wife and I still have an active ESTA from a no-kid trip), photos taken on iphone, no probs. I was braced for dramas.....

No probs scanning the Passport for the upload here , but then I get to the final stage and get a error message about being unable to process the payment, please try again later. 😒

Don’t recall if it’s been mentioned earlier but the US have stopped stamping passports on arrival as a matter of course. But you can view/download your current (“most recent I94”) and previous travel history here:

ESTA approved in less than 1 hour , interestingly seeing my Passport expires next year (June) , ESTA is only valid to June instead of the usual 2 years

1st application took hours, 2nd 15min.
It's fussy as to which format you use when scanning, as it lifts data from the scan to pre-fill.
Select in scan settings... jpeg

What did you have to scan? I don't remember having to scan anything.

Just did mine today, paid and approved within 2 hours. System recognised my scanned passport and it was smooth sailing.

Looks like its pretty quick these days.

So, I have a US trip coming up where I'll be in LA for more than 24hrs with overnight accom (and a trip to the baseball) before flying out to Europe late the following day.

On my current ESTA, I ticked the 'no' box for transit. I wouldn't consider this a 'transit' in the sense I am not transiting to another flight straight away.

I don't have to do a new ESTA, do I?
