I'm also a self-funded platinum for various reasons and Row-3 is one of the main reasons that I push to maintain it.

If they drop that benefit then I would become more comfortable with being Gold again as the Platinum benefits that are actually useful for me are far and few between.

Agreed 100% - would be back to BFOTD for me, rather than actively choosing VA.

As a survey question, this one sounds ludicrous. I wonder how many they expect to actually say "Yes, I'd like row 3 to be a paid upgrade".....perhaps most except platinum's! I wonder what the survey breakdown is, plat to everyone else percentage? May be a shrewd way of being able to say...."we've heard what you've asked for and......."

If row 3 becomes a paid upgrade then there's zero enticement for me to retain WP. I'd drop to back to gold and start clocking up lifetime status with Qantas

Masses of legroom. Against lack of overhead storage and no under seat storage.

It's basically the equivalent of row 4 on the QF 738s.

I get row 3 easily as a SG on VA - 100% hit rate this year! You don't need WP for it anyway

And more to that, if they make it a paid upgrade, I'm guessing it will effect Golds as well as Plats.

I dont care about row 3 anyway. If you get it, its always full. For domestic 737/embraer flights I pick the rear two rows. Off down the stairs and gone.

If it's still free for plats it will be okay. Most of the time exit rows are not purchased in advance from what I see.
