Today I received an email invite for a web based survey from Velocity, it seems to have been triggered because of a flight I made on Tuesday. It was relatively short survey. One webpage with about 10 questions.

Although it was titled as a Velocity survey it was mainly about Virgin Australia in general rather than being specific about the Velocity program. Interesting how different it was to the Qantas surveys.

It covered such things as The Lounge, priority boarding and priority security. It asked if The Lounge was better, the same or worse than the Qantas club.

There were questions asking if I knew about the new business class and the plans to refurbish the plane interiors. Also it asked if I knew about the kerbside access in Sydney. Some of these questions almost seemed like promotion in disguise. It was largely focused on domestic flights, although there was one question about which international partner airlines I had flown on.

I received one this evening as well. While I thought it was (by the intro) related to my recent flight (a month ago now), it did seem to be a little broader. Seemed to want to get a bit into product awareness rather than specifically about the flight.

Coincidentally, I received the survey on my iPhone while onboard a QF flight from Sydney. Given the number of questions asking me to compare Virgin's products and services with Qantas, I must admit I wondered if they were specifically targeting Velocity Members who were flying Qantas today. Might just be my guilty conscience flying Q for the first time in years.

For the record, Virgin and Velocity score very highly against Qantas in my opinion.

Got one too, initially thought it was about my flights last week. But after reading the questions it appears to be a more broader questioner.

I don't think it was triggered by recent flights. I got it as well, and for the first time in years, I made no flights last month :shock:.

I took the opportunity to tell them about the issues most raised here on AFF (of course that I have also experienced and agree with). The fact they were keen to seek our opinion of the differences between DJ and QF (particularly with the lounge and aircraft) gives some hope they realise they still need to take their product a slightly higher level.

Decided to respond to the email as I thought maybe at last Vigin might be willign to look at fixing the issues with Velocity.

While some aspects f the plan are great, I still think Velocity is inferior to QFF in too many ways:

* No SC earn for points + pay
* No SC earn for ASA redemptions
* No upgrades using points.
* S&E points roulette

Fingers crossed they take notice.

I did mention they should have a look at what people are saying on AFF if they want to try and win over some of the high flyers :mrgreen:

Received one yesterday as well, completed it and returned it. I did have to point out that you couldn't submit it with filling out the Q v's VA questions even though I don't fly Q.

Received my survey request yesterday referring to a recent flight. I assumed this was a OOL-MEL flight as part of a Virgin holiday during the week.

As I received no SC's and no points I told them this was a non flight and therefore this was also a non survey. I ticked NO on every question

Not happy Jan :confused:
