Applied for the Virgin Money Flyer ( silver) card in June 2019 and got the first lot of 25K points posted last week. Can I ask them to convert my card to a high flyer card. The flyer card is okay but the points earn rate seem to be capped at $1500. Appreciate your inputs.

I wouldn't even think about doing this until after you get all of your bonus points.

does anyone have experience with the following? I've recently got my last tranche of bonus points from the virgin flyer card, have closed the account (I love this online cancellation!), and want to track down another bonus for some QFF bonus.

Qantas Money Qantas Platinum looks like a good deal of which I qualify for (120k over 6 months for $199 fee), but nervous as its Citibank-backed which is also virgin. Only held the flyer for just over 3 months, so its very fresh.

Has anyone churned from virgin flyer to a qantas money card quickly?

3 months between these for me. No problems.

I will also be interested to know if there is any catch other than the 3 months gap before I can apply for any new card serviced/managed by Citi financial services.

Yes (about applying for another citi card), I've given my experience up thread a bit. I already had a Qantas everyday card and closed that and the Flyer card down last month and opened the City Qantas Signature card straight away. Not a hitch.

Thanks. But dang - that puts me at early November. 120k promo runs until 31 October, which is about as good as that card gets. Anyone have any luck under 3 months?
Can you provide me the link that’s got the 120k bonus? I could only find 90k.

120k for the Qantas Premier card - not the Virgin Flyer/High Flyer. Its the other Citibank-backed card I was referring to. Sorry for any confusion :)

Must be almost time for another 120k offer with the High Flyer though surely?

Wow got knocked back before I uploaded my documents... seems strange. Worth a call you reckon? (First Citi application ever!)
Only been with current employer for 3 months... Guessing that's the problem.

Have you had any other cards serviced by Citibank in the last year ?

Re: Virgin Money Flyer 60,000/High Flyer 120,000, $129 flight voucher, annual fee $64

I got rejected, quite sad about it
low credit score, good history but about 5 applications in feb this year,

might be time for me to take a year off

.... Do you think that's a reason for rejection? you think they 'know you're a churner?' Not sure what difference that would make as long as you're using the card. I've made 3 apps Got 2, didn't get 1. (my own mistake as I'm new at it.)
I am trying to work out how to pace myself.

Sorry i mean to say that i had churned so many cards last year that i was unable to get another card from providers and waited 12 months before applying again.
Because of the wait time between owning similar cards? or because of your credit rating?
How many cards did you churn that year?? I'm interested in knowing how many can be safely churned.
I'm not a high income earner (self employed) but recently got two QFF cards successfully, and declined one (Anz black) because it didn't have income limit anywhere on Ts and Cs or application. Doh.
I'm wondering how many I could churn and not burn my credit score too much as I want to do a Velocity card too. I'm new at this so don't know how to pace myself.

how many credit cards did you apply for that are either directly/indirectly managed by Citi bank.

Somehow citibank is not very good for churners.

I find Citi great for churning as they are cheap, point arrive fast and they don’t bench you for too long between applications. I’ve held two Citi managed cards at a time, but never tried more than that. I know I’ve written this before, but I’ve applied for the high flyer within a very short time of cancelling the flyer and been fine. Pretty sure I did 3 virgin cards (maybe 4?) in one year and only had a challenge with the last application (which was approved in the end, my 8th for that year)

They’ve obviously got a profile they like- I am a long tenured employee, at a big company with a decent salary.

Does anybody have first-hand experience of using the $129 voucher after closing their Virgin Money card?

From memory there was a suggestion account needed to remain open. Suspect that would be hard to enforce once the voucher is generated.
