50% off the fare. Look at the image. What is the fare? The number next to "fares" or the number next to "Total"?

Why ask me? I'm just quoting the T&Cs, I didn't write them. [-]However, I'm pretty sure they define "fare".[/-] No not defined. However, the other clause I quoted clearly states that you get a free flight sector, paying taxes x2 would mean it is no longer a free sector.

In terms of bookable fares Clause 1 says:

  1. The offer is available to Primary Virgin Flyer Credit Card holders and Virgin High Flyer Credit Cardholders for direct and formal connection Virgin Australia Australian domestic flig hts sold in Saver, Flexi, and Business fare classes subject to paragraph 4. It is not available on sale fares.

That doesn't say Saver Lite. I guest business saver is considered a sale fare?

Well the popup info window of the Virgin Money website (at present) clearly says that the 50% off includes taxes.

Cool. Go with that :)

I got a statement today, and not even a sniff of any changes were mentioned. Given that, I'm just going to go with the total fare being what is halved...

Perhaps this is one of the T+C's that will be changing in this supposed update - it will probably state that the TWO41 can't be used for Saver Lite, Premium Saver and Business Saver.

So what's left then? Flexi & Business?

The word from virgin money is that there are no changes and saver lite is eligible for the offer.

My 241s are still listed as "Unavailable".

Hmm... that has progressed backwards...

Yesterday, Mine was showing as 'unavailable' on the Velocity account home page, but as available on the My benefits detailed page.

Today, Unavailable on the home page and completely removed from the My benefits page - i.e. the section isn't there any more :!:

I wonder if the call centre can see them. Or if they will accept you have them and book something time critical

Same here. I'm keen to book some, but so far I've failed twice (funny, one still show as "on hold" in my bookings), but I want to leave the call centres in peace for a bit to deal with the Qld weather situation.

Ok I eventually managed to book the 241 fare. It was then, and still now shows on my profile as "unavailable" but the GCC was able to book them. It took a few hours (they didn't leave me hanging on, but phoned me back instead) but it's done, based on saver lite fare, the same fare as showing on line, no taxes or surcharges, just the CC fee.

It's a bit like pulling teeth (for the VA staff as well it would appear), so I wouldn't suggest trying to do this quickly. I also had all the info needed to give them from the outset, including the date, times, flight number, pax, pax VFF No's and price as displayed on line. I think the simpler you can make it, the easier it is. This was the 3rd attempt, still awaiting a return phone call from the other day and the first attempt is still showing in "my bookings" as on hold.

Now to attempt the next one!

Check you actually get the two-for-one price

I succesfully booked a two-for-one ticket last weekend. It did not go smoothly. The lady doing the booking at one point had given me the price for two tickets. I had questioned it, and she had said "oh, you are right" and then given me the price for a single ticket. After my initial 20 minute phone call, I thought everything was okay until I checked the dollar amount listed on the booking on Virgin's website. It was for two tickets not one.

So I recommend you double check that you actually get the cheaper price when you receive your electronic ticket receipts.

After another hour and a half on the phone it was all sorted. They refunded the original booking and did a completely new booking. I was told that the original booking had been attempted in a class that wasn't valid for the offer (presumably T class). I was told that I would have to be pay for Q class. I ended up paying $200.10 for two BNE-CBR tickets when the T class fare was $159. I am still over $100 in front, so I'm happy. They also waived the credit card fee.

While there is obviously a flaw in Virgin's systems and procedures, the individual Virgin staff that I was dealing with were very apologetic and obviously trying to make things right. I very much got the impression that they didn't have access to enough information to process the two-for-one deals properly. Hopefully that gets resolved soon. (All the staff I dealt with were in Australia.)

As an aside, two separate charges were made against my credit card for $100.05. Separate electronic ticket receipts were issued for both adults for $100.05. A third $0 receipt was issued for our infant child. I presume it is a result of the Sabre upgrade that seperate charges are made for each ticket.

Re: Check you actually get the two-for-one price

My 2 for 1 offers are back ... and I'll just say I'm happy :)

Re: Check you actually get the two-for-one price

I successfully booked two for ones OOL -MEL in Business Saver this afternoon in just 18 mins total.

Not bad all things considered.

An hour later, I rang up and made a small change to the flight time, changing them to a flight earlier, and this took 20mins.

Good things.

Were you charged any taxes for the 2nd person?

Virgin Money have posted on Facebook that this absolutely shouldn't be the case.
