So presumably those WP comp upgrades have been further enhanced?
Call and ask anyway. I knew there was no reward availability but called and was processed immediately. I think the rule that there must be reward seats can no longer be relied on

I called up Monday afternoon for a Tuesday morning 0600 ADL-SYD where there were still 4 unsold J seats, no reward availability and the australian Platinum team upgraded me without hesitation - there were still 3 empty J seats when we took off.

In the same call agent offered to check my Thursday 1930 SYD-ADL return which had 5 unsold J (according to ExpertFlyer) - no reward availability - again platinum upgrade process without hesitation to my amazement - did not expect that one. Flying back to Adelaide last night on that one there was not a spare seat, every J and Y occupied.

I haven't had many flex fares the past year so limited experience other than this one this week.

that was my interpretation from my post 19 above. Within a week or so of flight, they will convert revenue seats to comp upgrade seats. But as I said, I'm new at this.
