That's the bus stop that's been around since they began using the new parts of TBIT.

The T4/TBIT shuttle used to use it as well before the connector was opened - once it took me 45 minutes from gate 44 to TBIT.

For boarding from those 'gates' they take you to gate's mini ramp buildings at the west end of the aerodrome. There actually several of these small buildingss - they have been around for at least 15 years. First time I used them was at 2pm of a rather late QF93 in 2006. Back then I was bussed to T4 for CBP.

Pretty much ALL the Australian flights used to depart from the downstairs "shed" area and you would be bussed out to the remote stands.

Pretty sure you've had a few of those experiences too Serfty!

I recall some years ago flying JFK-LAX on a QF747, which scored one of the 'remote' terminals. We then got on the bus and got taken to the main TBIT terminal. As luck had it, that was the same aircraft I was flying back to Australia, so had to get back on the bus again to be taken over to the remote terminal for the flight home!

Thought it was a bit weird for them to have built actual remote terminals/gates - why not just board people directly to/from the bus?

'cause they could ... Sort of like the "people movers" at IAD.

The contemporary solution is to have a remote terminal rather than gate structures. That's why there's to be a "Bradley West".

I am in T 2 now for a DL flight and it is a shocking experience. Granted we are a few days into the move but it took 35 mins to get to the start of the line for TSA. At least 500 in the line and they allow 15-20 to go up to TSA every few minutes. TSA took another 25 mins in line.

There is a lot of angry people at the moment and a lot of missed flights.

Delta Lounge for today is a room called the Hospitality Suite with no hot food, no showers etc etc. until they move into the new lounge I believe this room with snacks is the go.

I was there on Sunday and it was as smooth as silk. I thought they did a great job considering I was expecting a zoo.

I do have pre check which makes life much easier.

T2

Here is the Line before the TSA line. I had been in this 15 minutes and as you can see it goes a fair way and then zigzag about 5 times before you were allowed to go up to the TSA line.. 35 mins

And if you are lucky enough to depart from gates 24, 26 or 28 then you get to mingle here as people also de plane and try to get through. At this stage 1 scanner per gate for boarding passes as well and stopping the loading line to bag check roller bags as aircraft overhead was full when only 60% of the plane loaded..

my scheduled departure was 2.55pm and actual lift off was 4.20pm

Check in at T2 (Western end of the check-in hall), flight departs from TBIT.

You can walk along and past T3 to TBIT for security, either at the departures level or downstair at arrivals/transit security.

Other options are to use either T3 or T2 security and take the Delta airside bus to TBIT or, if you are feeling really adventurous, use T4/T4/T6/T7 security and walk though the airside tunnels/corridors to TBIT.

Thanks for that. I have used the tunnels previously, but it helps to know where you are making for before you go down there. ;)
