That was a luck catch eh Yada Yada. Shame that you didn't get a seat at the front, but you had no way of knowing what aircraft you would get. Perhaps it would be an idea to always try and get a seat in the first few rows, where possible.

3 more aircraft should be getting Y+ installed shortly, so look out!

Cheers

You could buy a whole row of seats on virgin for the price of 1 premium economy seat, or you could do what i do for my customers, it's called "Pretender" fares, where we book a regular economy seat in the blue zone and add foxtel and meals and everything much cheaper and I haven't had one person complain yet

Yes you can book 3 seats for the same price but when those people don't show they can easily sell the seats to someone else

Yes but couldn't you check in the 'pretender' fares online or at a kiosk, then board.... DJ would issue a few pages calling the 'pretender' fare names then just push back without them and that would not leave them anytime to re-sell the ticket or re-allocate anyone into the seat next to you...

I have actually done this on JQ, not on purpose, my cousin was supposed to be travelling with me but had to cancel last minute, the fare was only 50 bucks or something so she just left it - I checked her in online selected the seat next to me and had it spare to stretch out in!

FYI I have it on good authority (a friend at DJ and another at JQ...always interesting BBQs but I digress) That neither LCCs overbook against noshos so if you book 3 seats and checkin, only if someone decides to "move" once the doors are closed should those seats be taken
