I also note re Jetstar that a number of the cabbies who drive up from Avalon aren't familiar with MEL and actually ask for directions!!

I do have a concern that QF's policies may irk some people though and so they should be more flexible. In the past few weeks I have had to go to MEL on short notice. The price differential between QF and DJ has been quite staggering and so it is hard to justify the latter. Also, if a QF flight is booked on one of the lower fares there is no flexibility to alter flights. If I get to the airport in time for a previous flight and there is room on it why can't I travel on that earlier flight? Very annoying.
