I was going to say the reverse. The email from VB came in hours before the QF email. It's probably a bit difficult to say who was first because emails seem to go out in batches and could be delayed at any point along the super-highway before they reach your inbox.

LOL... I got the QF email the day before I got the Virgin one....

anyways manged to book Sydney-Mackay with virgin for $99 each way so not complaining :)

Followed the link and didn't get any info on the 12 hour sale:?:
Also tried the link on the Virgin Site, no luck there either

Yes, that's really good, but I've already bought all my travel requirements for the rest of the year (as I suspect many people have in previous sales).

So I wonder how much DJ et Jetstar will really get out of this (OK, there's a window available for later in the year).

Happy travelling.

;)

I purchase fares as I need from week to week so this type of thing works OK for me. :)

QF released a sale overnight
Nothing special about the current QF specials. It would appear that QF have already factored into the specials the upcoming increase to base airfares due to rising fuel costs....

Agreed. Am looking at SYD-CNS to see the family, QF had $149 last time, is $168 this time... but I think I will do DJ as they are $89 in NOV

Yes, I noticed that too.

The only thing special about QF's "sale" is that it isn't very special.

I hope that not too many people are hoodwinked by this.
